Ordered pani puri got bhel puri Appetizer came out late 4 tiniest pakoras were served while we waited and 3 were extremely hard as if they were reheated many times Mango lusi was in a tall and thin glass so serving size was no more than 8-10oz I don’t think they know their plates are not good for tiny tables. Too flat for main course and utensils are too big. Main course run between $20-25+ but I can assure you the quality of food is ehh 2 Star worthy and quantity is no more than size of a small bowl. They spread it out on a longer dish which isn’t deep enough so you are really paying a lot for less serving size. Naan serving size was tiny as well only a child can finish it and I have never seen my 10 yr old actually finish a naan, ever! Kabab tandori platter, under cooked chicken leg and over cooked kabab. Paneer makhni was good but wish it was better portion size for main course. Same for Chicken biryani and yellow dal. Jhega soup was taken away to be pack for us but never came back so not sure what happened. If I know food quality well enough then something is off. Not gonna lie but almost everything tastes straight out of the freezer and jars. $100+ for tiny portions and eh okay quality I don’t know, not the place I would try again. Service people are very sweet and nice but we don’t pay for service only so hopefully they will take this constructive criticism and work on it. Owner /manager should give customers some space he watches like a hawk that was a...
Read moreGreat place - authentic food. They dialed back the spicy a little bit for my wife; but if you go there and tell them you like spicy, I'm sure it can get a load hotter. Was really surprised at the quality of all three dishes we got. That's chicken, lentils and cheese (no, I'm not going to attempt to spell their names) and then the traditional "sweet cheese ball" for desert (I think it's made with rose water). Rice was perfectly cooked (I get cranky if the rice is mushy). Service was attentive and helpful. I think the place is new - hit it up while you can - we were able to walk in and get seated right away (like 8pm). That won't last long. Food is excellent and prices are reasonable. Once word gets out there will be crowds. Our biggest hit of the night -shrimp appetizer. It was $11 and had four shrimp, but the sauce was extremely good. It was a real surprise - not something we had had before. If you try nothing else on the appetizer list, try this. Like many Indian food places, loads of...
Read moreWent for dinner over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised at this new spot. Admittedly it doesn't "look" like an Indian restaurant from the outside but the meal was phenomenal and surprisingly busy (for a new restaurant). Everything we ordered tasted great, the portions were reasonable, and the menu had a lot of options. The service was also really good (they refilled the drinks frequently which is a big plus for me), the food came out fast, and the staff even brought us more sauce when we mentioned how good it was. The prices were very reasonable especially for Syosset. No complaints at all and I'm sure they'll get even better after they've been open...
