I came here with my husband after reading the reviews and this place has such a high rating so we thought we would have a pleasant time there. We couldn't have been more wrong. Once we walked into the restaurant, we noticed a smell that was unpleasant, like something was damp for a while and it was giving off a wet dog smell. But we figured it's ok, we will still try the food since we were there.
We were seated right away and noticed that there were multiple flies in the restaurant. When we were still looking through the menu, we had to constantly flick our hands to get the flies away from the table. The worst part was the waitress didn't even bother apologizing or attempt to get rid of the flies. We thought about leaving the restaurant but my husband was hungry so we decided to order anyway despite the smell and all the flies in the restaurant.
We ordered Khao soi and drunken noodles. The khao soi was good and my husband liked the drunken noodles but he was disappointed with the portion size. We ordered dinner portion so he was expecting to get more but he was still hungry after finishing the noodles. While we were eating, the flies were still flying around. I was very disappointed that no one from the restaurant was attempting to get rid of the flies. It's hard not to think that there might be more flies in the kitchen.
Overall the food was good but I am disappointed in the cleanliness of this restaurant. I won't be returning after...
Read moreEXCELLENT IN EVERY WAY. The food was outstanding and every dish deserved the audible, "oh wow" sigh. Fresh, clean, quality ingredients always make the difference. Then to be executed perfectly by the chef while putting love in the food, well, it leaves you wanting to try every dish. Maybe some of the photos will motivate you to get off the couch and go. (Hibiscus Tamarind Iced Tea wonderful too.) The vibe was delightful with music at the balanced level. Everything was clean. I'm a little judgey if the restrooms are off. Happy to report they were also very clean and attended to. The service was spot on; it could not have been better. Natty was gracious, attentive, caring, kind-hearted and knowledgeable. I'm reminded of a quote by Muhammad Ali, "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth." She is the living embodiment of service to others! It's obvious if you take the time to see it, that there has been so much love, care and thoughtfulness put into the authentic Thai flavors. Not only the food, but the decor, plates, ambiance, and the people who make it what it is. This is a MUST TRY, over and over again. Nothing like great, Authentic Thai food with a sprinkle of love to nourish the soul! Oh, and parking is in the back with plenty of spots. (Thank you, Ning; it's everything you said...
Read moreFood not as good as Chada the prior business. Called order in 40 minutes prior to pick up and when I walked in to pick up my order an employee was sleeping in the booth and my order hadn't been cooked yet. I had to wait as they only started to cook it after I arrived. No other customers at that time. Food average and price a little higher than before with the portions being smaller. Most disappointing is the lack of care from the young lady who was there. Definitely give the new place 6 months till it's gone with service like this.
I just saw your response. My family is half thai and we have ate regularly at Sanook and Chada it's just the neighbors and I still call it Chada. If Calling in a order to pick in 40 minutes ( not being told the restaurant is on break) and arriving 5 minutes early and the employee cook is sleeping in the booth and Im not getting out for another 15minutes because there was no plan to start cooking my order... with no other customers is acceptable to you....then good luck. We have spent a lot of money over the years at the two prior restaurants at your location...getting to know both owners well. Since you're defending your staff we will frequent Sri pra pai and other...
