sweetgreen - Healthy Salads, Bowls and Plates — Restaurant in Town of Oyster Bay

Edit: I came back to update my review. Things have gotten much better. While not perfect, there are significant improvements across quality. I've been ordering pretty consistently this past month (May 2023) and it's a world's difference from before, so it's only fair to update this accordingly. While some parts of my order might be wrong, they have been kind, tried to fix the issue, and provide top notch customer service. I have an experienced the exact same issues I had 4 months ago.

I've gone to this location three times and three times my order has had a problem. I used to go to many of the New York City locations almost weekly for the past 7 years. Not once has any of those New York City locations gotten my order or parts of my order wrong, which is phenomenal. I've even gone to sweetgreen and other cities, like Boston, that's becausr I am a huge fan of this restaurant chain. I was really excited that they opened up a Long Island location by where I live. Unfortunately, each of the three times I've ordered there, something has been wrong with my takeout order.

First time customers beware. I just ordered our first order on the app and their promos/credits state that first time buyers get $5.00 off that should appear under that category upon checkout. This credit never showed up on my account that I created, even after linking my card, and my order was $40 which was well over the minimum. They are scammers. I original gave 1 star rating because the company was not honest about the promo codes/credit as described on their website. Not on the food. I have never ordered or eaten here and this did not work. I'll update review later as to quality of the food once my coworker picks it up and we try it.

UPDATE: I updated stars to 3 to bring attention to the company (I would give 4) but here is my update review. As to the food, I have to give them props because they use biodegradable take out containers. Good job Sweetgreen. Even the lids match the base, not plastic like some places give with a biodegradable base. The food I ordered was delicious. I got the Curry Cauliflower which I modified to remove chicken and raisins and I added lentils and crispy rice to my bow. It was very good. The service at the Woodbury NY location is some of the worst I’ve received pretty much anywhere. Even the one kid who’s actually pleasant is terribly lazy. The African American woman who helped me last Saturday 5/25/24 literally threw the ingredients into my bowl. Scraped the crust out of the bottom of the empty pail that once contained steak onto my salad and then got verbally and visually annoyed when I asked for an additional item added to the basic salad. The. When I stated my displeasure regarding the 3 cubed of steak and pail crust I was given excuses and more attitude then made to wait nearly 15 mins for 8 cubes to be again thrown on top of my salad. The fact that this is a common theme of most every review for this location is an obvious indication that Sweetgreen doesn’t much care for its over paying customer base. It’s a shame because the foods actually good when you finally get past the harassment attitude and nasty customer service. Shame on you Sweetgreens for allowing this after numerous reviews and at the same time having a management staff that allows this while doing nothing other than scrolling on cell phones themselves.
