Very disappointing! The prices reflect a fine dining experience. However, the reality is a severely over priced "mom and pop" type - back country eating hole dressed up to portray and better dining establishment. My very first visit to this restaurant that we've been looking forward to visiting. We had purchased a coupon for Butcher Block from a door to door marketing person. The coupon is good to be used "except for all major holidays." Since Mother's Day is on a Sunday and no additional days off happen during the week such as Memorial Day, I didn't think this rule applied, nor did it state the specific holidays anywhere on the coupon.
Sat down... A Bug crawled on me.. My partner removed..the shoeing of the fly started... Told the waitress i would like mine well-well done, as my partner said he would like med-to well done.. She suggested med.. And had explained that in previous experiences with steak houses, its more rare than med so he would like it more like a little pink... Not red... I guess we failed in ordering because i got med-well and my partner got rare.. .At first glance my meal looked amazing, even tho my mushrooms really missed the "sauté." To sauté is to cook food quickly in a minimal amount of fat over relatively high heat! Told the waitress i would like mine well-well .... With a good amount of butter resting comfortably in the center of each. I had ate all of my buttery pat. And buttery green beans..ate a salad..drank my raspberry tea..still shoeing the fly... And the waitress returns... I had to... Only because the waitress didn't wait to check if the steak was to our liking.. When she finally came back to us.. And asked how was everything... Remind you drinks were empty...food was mostly ate.. Except the steak.... I said my steak isn't fully cooked.. She took my plate and turned to my partner " and yours? 99% sure attitude was definitely there.. So i waited another 15 minutes.. And she returned my plate with pat.. Green beans on it....and could you guess....the same steak i had already took 2 bites off.. And still didn't ask if it was ok... No asking if we would like a refill..nothing...i was done with the whole situation..we had to wait aprox. another 10-15 minutes before she came back and asked if we wanted to go boxes.. Still left a $5 tip and a note that said look for my google review... So here's a tip... I am grateful that you are still working during this sensitive time... But as i just worked my 17 hr shift i was looking to relax and enjoy a good meal... So remember we all aren't just out having a good time...i was still in my work cloths...not dressed all fine... And just like you i was on my feet the whole time... REMEMBER I too didn't want to cook tonight after all that time. All this for 2 dinners and $5...
Read more2 out of 3 visits our orders was not right. It's way over priced for steaks that came out not cooked right. Consistency of the food coming out of the kitchen is never the same. For a steak house they can not properly cook a T-bone. Just not acceptable. No offer to get a manager, just we can throw it back on the grill. Plus in small print below the steaks it states that butter herb mix is served on your steak. If you don't see that print you get that mix on your steak. The print is down from the steaks and easily missed. On our first visit we didn't see it and was not even told that was how they serve it. So when the steak arrived it was melted and all over the place. True it was any easy scrape and daub fix, but it was just a turn off. Salad bar is on a slant so the salad spoons/tongs usually end up with the upper bowls serving utensils handles falling into the bowl below it. Yes right on that bowls food. The bread is served fresh baked and uncut. So the patron in line in front of me full on grabbed the loaf of bread bare handed to cut it. That is a turn off to me. Gross in so many ways. The decorartions are excellent, and interesting. However, spacing of tables is too close. So getting out when you are done dining or trying to make a trip to the salad bar is like trying to get thru a maze. There usually is an abundance of staff and the are trying to do their job. With the close proximity of the tables. It makes it hard to move. When servers are doing their job, and with other diners moving about it becomes very tight and crowded quickly. It gets blocked off by people and hard to move about. There tables set up in right down the middle in front of doorways and no clear path or space to it. So you either have to go around or squeeze between chairs while trying not to bumb into other diners. There is the long way around, but again it's full. So, no matter which path you take, it is a squeeze. Denny's even has a better seating plan than this nightmarishly tight sardine packed plan they have. Taking a table out here and there would help. I would prefer to wait a bit longer than have to be crammed in an over...
