First of all, I think it is poor planning and an inconvenience for shoppers that they closed off the entrance to the main mall. You have to walk out and around to get to and from the store. Once you get there the store itself looks cheap, while it has some cool and interesting finds in the glass and candle section (we were working on centerpieces), the store itself looks old even thought the store is relatively new.
Now for my main point.
The inventory and service was awful. Like I said above, there were some interesting finds in the section we were looking for. However, there was only two or three of just about everything...which makes it kind of difficult to create centerpieces that are all uniform. We ended up deciding to go with the other option at Walmart, but we still wanted to use some of the smaller glassware as embellishment on the food tables. As we were unable to find more then two on the self or nearby I went to ask an associate. I approached two women who were organizing a shelf together and were wearing Hobby Lobby badges. I said, "'Excuse me I was just wondering if you had anymore stock in the back." they looked like they were annoyed I had interrupted them and one of the women said, "No everything we have is on the floor, you can order it online". Clearly finished with me she and the other women went back to their conversation. I then attempted the register, hoping the woman there would be able to tell me at least how many they had in the store. She was unhelpful stating that she could look it up but it wouldn't help because if I had two that was probably all the they had. I asked her is she could still look it up and she sighed walking over to her computer only to stop as a male co-work approached. She then proceeded to tell him my question and to which he rather urgently dismissed it repeating almost the same mantra as the others and telling me to order it online. When I said that I would really like them to look it up as the event was only in a few days and with Hurricane shipping would be slow. He responded with, "That's all that's going to be in the store". Completely frustrated, I left.
As a worker in the hospitality business the failure to do such a little thing that would have made the company lose money is baffling and with the store in such a mess with things sort of scattered in multiple locations, we could have been there an hour or more searching the store. All and all they lost our business...
Read moreI'm torn on what to say. Very large space, that is a mixture of crafting store, toy store and furniture store. Huge selection of things to help waste time, I say that in a good way I suppose. I would say the word hobby in the name of the store is a bit of a loose interpretation. Mostly I would call it a crafting store, like Michaels, I suppose crafting is a hobby. Nevertheless, there is much more for those that might say "traditionally womens" hobbies than "traditionally mens" hobbies (I am not trying to pigeon hole I know genders don't dictate whether you like knitting et cetera). While there will be a few items to tickle the fancy of model builders, and model rocket enthusiasts, the ratio is something like 10:1 in favor of "traditionally womens" "hobbies". Still, you can spend a lot of time in the shop looking around. If you're looking for something for a hobby/craft you already do, or for inspiration for a new hobby/craft then I think you have...
