I have decided not to shop at the Plattsburgh, NY store anymore due to an unfortunate incident involving a retail associate and my daughter. The associate raised their voice towards my daughter (prior to entering the store) simply because she was wearing a zipped backpack, which happened to be smaller than the large handbags commonly carried by mature ladies who entered the store after her, including myself. My daughter was given an ultimatum to surrender her backpack-instead, she and I chose to leave due to the intense interrogation and looks from other dismayed staff. I promptly informed the store manager about this incident. In light of this situation, I am concerned about the potential liability that Runnings, the company operating the store, may face. Specifically, I worry about the safety of personal belongings if customers are asked to turn in their backpacks at the store. There is a risk that these items could potentially be rifled through, stolen by Runnings store associates, or handed over to the wrong customer. I like the amount of products that they offer they have a large selection of brand-name equipment and a large selection of supplies for farming. They seem to have some pretty good sales at times involving some really well-known brand names. Such names as Milwaukee and Stihl chainsaws. I've been able to find what I need it for my electric fence and also for my trailer and they even have a pretty good selection of animal feeds. It's a pretty neat store. Sort of like an old time General Store and hardware store. They have a large selection of snacks such as beef sticks and different types of soda brands. Jen who has been answering the phones today is extremely rude. I called this morning to ask if they were still selling chicks, she said she couldn't answer the question and to call back. Called back this afternoon and she had such a bad attitude on the phone when she said they had no chicks. That's fine. Just be polite about it. No reason to have such an attitude for a simple question. It also could have been answered this morning since it was the same girl who answered the phone.
