Arrived at the hotel at 5 pm on a Sunday. Checked-in and went to our room. The door was open, the bed was stripped, there was still trash and the iron board was out but no one was in our room. Called to the front desk to tell them our room was not ready. The woman said to come back and she will give us another room. We went back to the front desk and the woman said that the other room she had was a king sized bed but that the jacuzzi was not working. I refused that offer, I had paid for the jacuzzi because I wanted to use a Jacuzzi. The woman then told me there was nothing she could do because she was all alone. I asked if she could call someone to clean our original room. She told me that no one was there. That there is no one to call. Meanwhile I had seen 2 maids carts outside near our room and told her so. Her reply "oh really? You saw that?" Why am I more informed about your hotel than you! So she walks out of the building to see the carts in the hall and calls and asks someone to clean our room because we are waiting. We wait about 20 minutes and she tells us it's clean we could go in. Now we go back to our room. The room was clearly quickly cleaned, because when I walked into the bathroom the first thing I saw was an old soap wrapper in the bathtub. So I cleaned it myself. We continue d with our day and when we got home that night, we filled the jacuzzi and turned it on but the Jets were not working. We called the front desk to ask if we were doing it right. The man told us how to do it and said to make sure not to fill it too much. We tried for another 20 minutes and it did not work. Called the front desk again and he said he didn't have anyone to fix it, so I said can we fix my bill? And he told me he would leave a note for the manager in the morning and I could talk to him. The next morning we went down to the front desk to talk to the manager he said he would give us a 20$ refund because the Jets didn't work, I said and what about the other inconveniences we have experienced. He told me that's all he could do and I could call the owner if I want to try and get more. So now I'm trying to get ahold of the owner. I would never recommend this place to anyone, go to Best Western, comfort-in or somewhere else even if it's more money because at least you will get what...
Read moreWe were here for 3 weeks. At first glance, it’s clearly very shady. In the 3 weeks, we had the guy in the room above us who was loud all hours of the night and day. Management wouldn't move him or us after several complaints with evidence. So we were awake every night from the noise. The smell is musty. When we first moved in, the room was dusty. The sheets have huge holes and cigarette burns. The toilet had dried urine on it. The towels had a lot of stains. The guy above us flooded his toilet and the water came in through the ceiling vent and our bathroom was covered in toilet water, I had to ask them to clean it up and they didn't. It takes days to get new towels/toiletries. All hours of the night, expect to hear some sort of fight outside your door. Again, employees don't do anything to stop it. The guy next to us had a "service dog" who the guy let out with no leash, did his business wherever, and then called the dog in. There was a really bad ant problem. I had to ask for ant traps and it took 4 days to get them. 4 ant traps weren't enough to stop them. Then, their version of resolving the issue was to spray them with antibacterial spray and then she just left it there. So many dead ants all over the bathroom. The mini fridge barely kept anything cold and made a horrible hum. The housekeepers go in your room when you're not there too, so keep your room clean and hide anything valuable. All employees seem very sketchy and don't seem to care about their jobs at all. Kim at the front desk always had a horrible attitude even if we were just asking for more toilet paper. The place is full of drug addicts from DSS. So expect random screaming and the fights and don't walk alone at night. Drug deals are normal here. This is NOT a kid friendly hotel. The only good thing about the place is the high speed internet and the...
Read moreThe America's Best Value Inn is a clean, comfortable place to stay right off Interstate 87 that's convenient to a number of events in Plattsburgh. I recently stayed there for two nights while attending a wedding. The reception was held at the Butcher Block's Adirondack Room, so ABVI was the closest hotel. I ended up booking two separate reservations since I had booked the first night before learning of the venue. The first night I stayed in a room with two double beds that was a typical budget hotel room. The room had a flat screen LCD TV, mini fridge, and microwave and had some shelves and a bar tohang clothesin the back of the room. For my second night, I had upgraded to a Jacuzzi king suite. The room had similar amenities to the first worth the addition of a chair and ottoman. The Jacuzzi was in the bathroom and was large enough to fit four or five people. I've stayed in a few rooms with whirlpools in them, but this was definitely the largest. Toiletries included two bars of soap and a squeeze bottle of conditioning shampoo. Both rooms were clean and appeared to be well-maintained. The front desk attendant, knowing that we had a wedding to get to, had our room ready before 11am, allowing us plenty of time to resettle and get ready, which made the stay hassle free. The exterior corridors allowed me to park right in front of the room both nights. The only thing that left something to be desired was the breakfast. It consisted of coffee, tea, milk, orange juice from concentrate, pastries, toast, and cereal. The only gluten free option was corn flakes. Personally, though, I'm a big raisin bran fan, so the breakfast was good enough to get my day started until I had a...
