Well shoot... I'm from Texas and I lived in Chateaugay, NY. In the early 90s. Taco Bell at the mall and the mall itself literally saved my life as a kid. With no decent Tex Mex it was the best option and Iloved Taco Bell since I was 5. I'm sad it closed at the mall but I understand. Wish I could of visited it again one last time. No one goes to malls anymore these days except in big cities and it's mostly immigrants getting to experience the nostalgia of the late 20th century American iconic shopping dream (of course now foreign countries that are even a bit modernized have awesome malls). Anyway. Wild Tangent. Taco Bell in the Plattsburgh Champlain Center Mall boosted my morale being a teen in a country town with no Mexican or Tex-Mex food worth spit for a 1000 miles. I'm forever in North Country NYs Taco Bell debt. It was always hot and fresh. I'm sure this one was great. My go to was always a Burrito Supreme, Pintos n Cheese and a medium Dr. Pepper. (Literally the only restaurant in 1992 in North NY you could find a Dr. Pepper and as a kid born a couple hours from where it was invented). To whoever owned those franchises or still does up there, thank you from the bottom of my soul and letting me walk down memory lane of being bullied and hated for where I was from and having a little place of solace and shelter to remind me of home. God bless you all who work there or did over the years. You might have no idea just whose life you saved over something as simple as a meal that brought them briefly home if only for a Saturday with their family. Thanks Taco bell and Pepsi Co but seriously, KEEP THE DOUBLE DECKER LINEUP ON THE MENU AND THE GORDITAS! How hard is it to have something on there you have the Ingredients to?! It's not hard to make 900 different things from 7 of the same ingredients. It makes no sense. Tell corporate to smarten up. It's ridiculous. It's not hard for a kid working to keep it straight. I know being a brain dead weed head with the attention span of a gold fish today makes life hard but it ain't that hard. Trust me, it's doable. Because half your modern menu is trash....
Read moreI recently visited this establishment, and I must say, it was an absolute disaster. Let me break it down for you: Order Chaos: We had to repeat our order multiple times. Seriously, how hard is it to get a simple order right? We even provided our name and order number more than once, but it seemed like the staff was playing a game of “Guess the Customer’s Order.” Not cool. Flavorless Drinks: The drinks they served us were like a sad, flavorless abyss. I mean, how can you mess up something as basic as a drink order? It’s not rocket science. Maybe they need a crash course in “Beverage 101.” Eternal Drive-Thru Line: The drive-thru line was crazier than a rollercoaster queue during peak season. I half-expected to see a sign saying, “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here.” Seriously, folks, invest in some traffic management or teleportation devices. Service? What Service?: The service was so bad that I wondered if they were secretly training their employees to be anti-customer ninjas. Rude, unhelpful, and stuck-up – the trifecta of terrible service. Overall Disaster: In summary, this place is a hot mess. They need to gather their staff, give them a pep talk (or a reality check), and figure out how to run a business. Otherwise, they’ll be losing customers faster than a melting ice cream cone on a summer day. Note to Management: If you’re reading this, please take notes. Your business needs an emergency makeover. 🚨 1: CNBC | 2: Minc Law |...
Read moreThe food here is decent taco bell food when it's made correctly as ordered. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, if they're open for it. They change their hours often without any signage update, supposedly based on staffing issues.
The catch is the service and staff. The staff often do not pay any attention to customizations. When they are out of an ingredient they don't inform you and just make it without, even if you paid extra for it. So be prepared to check your order and insist on refunds. Also be prepared for long waits. Despite having more staff than should be needed it can take them an unreasonable amount of time (45min-1.5hrs) to make the smallest of orders. There is always 1 or 2 staff members standing around seemingly lost at what to do.
If dining in, expect to clean your own table. They do a terrible job of cleaning when they even get to it.
This place has needed better management for years and it's not getting any better.
Lastly, don't bother coming in if it's near closing time. They will straight up try to kick you out of the restaurant as soon as the closing time arrives, whether you ate your food or not. Even if they just gave it to you. Customer service is completely...
