Ginger Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Poughkeepsie

Ginger Chinese takeout, on Rt 9, just north of the Spackenkill road exits has been a staple at that location for maybe 15 years. It is consistently a great answer to not cooking and enjoying a steaming plate of your favorite dish, which we normally would not cook ourselves. I tend to be a little boring with my chicken and broccoli, but lately I’ve added extra broccoli and mixed vegetables, and it is delicious every time. Some of my extras might be their spare ribs, also tasty, and sometimes fried dumplings, extra crispy, again very tasty. Their won ton soup is also much better than most. A few years ago the business changed hands, and I have to say the new owners are constantly improving the place, it’s clearly evident if you’ve been a long time customer, and these changes are all for the better. They’ve added an exotic fish tank to the ambiance which is a welcome change to stare at instead of your phone while you wait for your food.

I had to take a break from eating and write this review. The new ownership has potentially saved this restaurant. A week ago I saw reviews that it was under new ownership and decided to give them a shot after 2 years of boycotting. I ordered the general taos w ou th pork fried rice. Reviews were right, it was awesome. Tasty, fresh, and on the money. The rice didn't taste stale either. Delivery was fast and order was correct.

Today I wanted to see if it were a fluke so I ordered chicken and broccoli with white rice. If you been here before, you'd know the chicken was mushy and just not good. Not the case anymore and I'm impressed. Even the broccoli is delicious. This place has the potential to be a top Chinese restaurant in town. Inside looks so much better and open without that raggedy tall shelf that was there. 5 stars for bringing this restaurant off...

I go to this place last night .I ordered what I wanted.i ordered .half of chicken with pork fried rice.the lady look me in my face.i paid for my order.when I get to where I was going.i opened the box .she gave me four chicken wings.its not a big deal.but all she had to say was I don't have the half of chicken.she gave me what she wanted.it was raining last night.she is so lucky I didn't come back.i was pissed.all you had to do was let me know.let me make up my mind.if I wanted the order.thats not cool.if I came back last night.i would of told her to keep it.and give me back my money because that's not what I wanted. So instead of making a big scene.im writing this blog .so I can cool down.they treat people any kind of way.im spending my money.i want what I want.so I'm letting everyone no becareful when you order something from GINGER CHINESE...
