My wife and I had lunch at KorPot this past week, and we were thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The restaurant itself is modern and clean, with a vibrant yet comfortable atmosphere that was perfect for a midday meal.
The food was absolutely the highlight. We both ordered the Bibimbap, served in a sizzling hot stone bowl. It was a true work of art—a colorful arrangement of fresh, seasoned vegetables, tender marinated beef, and a perfectly fried egg. Hearing the rice sizzle and crisp up at the bottom was fantastic, and mixing it all together with their savory-sweet gochujang sauce created a perfect harmony of flavors and textures.
To finish our meal, we shared the Carp Shaped Bread. It was served warm, with the classic sweet red bean paste filling perfectly balanced by a rich, house-made cheese cream. The combination was an incredible treat.
But what truly makes KorPot special, and the reason we will be rushing back, is the staff. Everyone is so genuinely warm and welcoming. The server wasn't just efficient; they were incredibly friendly, smiling, making helpful suggestions, and checking on us with a real sense of care. It felt less like we were just customers and more like we were welcome guests. This level of sincere hospitality is what elevates a good restaurant to a truly great one. For the amazing quality and generous portions, the price offers incredible value. You leave feeling happy, well-fed, and appreciated.
Final Verdict: KorPot is an outstanding choice for lunch. Thanks to the combination of delicious food and arguably some of the friendliest, most attentive service we've experienced, it has instantly become one of our new favorite spots. We can't...
Read moreMy legend of “Knowing my food” ended here. I had been thinking about Korean noodles all day today, cold or warm. So we tried this restaurant based on high rates. Janchi guksu, a bowl of warm noodles with vegetables and meat, was the one I had to choose because there was no other place stated “noodles”. When we were enjoying all the other tasty foods, this one was served about 20 minutes later. “Is it instant noodles?” I churned it a little and asked my wife with my heart descending at speed of 60 mph. “I don’t know, maybe just the look, it may taste different.” My wife was surprised and answered. So, I tried, from the way it came out of my bowl to the texture feeling in my mouth, I couldn’t find any proof that it was not instant noodle. So my heart hit the ground and crashed, no matter how delicious the other food were it would not recover. So I told the girl who served us in the restaurant I didn’t like it, wondering if I could return it. She went back and discussed with the others, then a guy came out and investigated. “Why do you want to return it?” So I told him the effects of instant noodles on me. He looked at me like looking at a crazy old man. (Yes, I am old but not crazy.) “But you touched it, right?” “Yes!” “You touched it, then you can’t returned it, so I will still charge it on you!” I agreed with him, then went out. But he agreed with me when my wife was paying the bill. At the end, my expectation was not satisfied, and they didn’t make any money out of it. What a pity! Will it be better just telling us the noodles were made of instant noodles? Then my Saturday would be better and this post would...
Read moreKorpot is a must if you want to try authentic restaurant quality Korean food. ( I am updating this review to keep up with the changes that are evolving as they settle into post Covid service) Update: they serve a limited selection of Korean alcoholic beverages. The menu has a variety of choices for the Korean experience. Their hours have changed as well. Korpot is only open Friday to Sunday. The menu has grown and they now have fried chicken among other new tasty choices.
I ordered the Dolsot Bimbap with spicy pork. (The pork is not available at this time 11/22 so my order came with beef ..ground and shaved. pork is available in other dishes) The meal was served in a traditional clay pot with Banchan sides and a green salad. I also was served a small bowl of pumpkin soup which was very smooth and tasty. I’m trying “new to me”things so I ordered Korean fried dumplings made with glass noodles this was delicious. I also tried the rice “ punch” they offer. Previously I had the cinnamon punch both the rice and cinnamon punches are sweet and refreshing totally a compliment the hot spicy food. The Banchan served was very good it included kimchi ,lightly battered fried shishito pepper ( very tasty) and seasoned fish cakes strips. . The venue is clean ,bright and spacious. The service is very good and the staff are very friendly. There is a television with KDramas and or Korean music videos playing. Service is great .. go to the counter to order and pay after you are finished eating. Korean fried chicken !! .. I can’t wait...
