The food is fine, but it is not worth the hassle of having to guess if you are getting what you paid for.
Be prepared for VERY long wait times of you don’t order ahead. I was standing with this other woman one day and we both realized that we had been standing there for an hour and a half for chicken fingers (me) and a salad (her). After that I decided to start ordering takeout ahead of time and do something else until the food was ready.
I used to order take-out once or twice a week for lunch and noticed that every time I did, something would be wrong with the order. Sometimes it would be big (missing items), sometimes small (incorrect sauces spilled on the food), but always something. I started ordering and immediately calling in to confirm my selection because no matter how often I selected “no honey mustard or barbecue sauce” I would always find it in the to go box, often times spilled all over my meal. Sometimes I would ignore that they forgot an item or swapped it out for something else entirely but it just kept happening. I must have called in about it 5 separate times before the manager, Robin, finally reached out. For my call with her, I was under the weather and decided to order delivery. I love very close to the restaurant. The food arrived cold, no sauce, no utensils (specifically requested), and a missing item. Robin was kind enough to refund me for my meal, said she would look into why this was happening, and encouraged me to reach out if it happened again.
It happened again. Missing food. I called in, asked to speak with Robin and was told she was out, I left a message as she instructed and she never got back to me. Still hasn’t.
Like I said, The food is fine, but it is not worth the hassle of having to guess if you are getting what you paid for. I’m ordering take out because I’m in a hurry and I don’t have time to grab the food, stop at a table, and check to make sure they...
Read moreI’m actually quite disappointed with sugar and spice tonight. I have ordered from them before and love going in to pick up my food since it’s so close to my job. I have ordered this for delivery on door dash a couple of times with not many issues but this time I ordered something and I didn’t get my order correct. I called the restaurant telling them my order was incorrect and if they could please send the right food so the woman on the phone took my order. I call about an hour and half later trying to give them some time to figure things out since I’m sure they are busy. When I call the woman on the phone remembers me and my order. I ask if anyone is coming out to deliver my food or if I could have someone pick it up since they were going to be near the restaurant. The woman on the phone asked if door dash had a driver out and I asked if she was talking to me because I didn’t even think to get them involved since the order was through the restaurant. She then proceeds to tell me that they are about to close in a few mins and I understand that was terrible timing on my part but come on. I have literally worked all day and haven’t had anything to eat. When you order something online you expect it to come correctly. The woman at the restaurant that I was talking on the phone with blamed it on door dash because of the way door dash worded the order to them on the phone. I’m not sure but I may not be using door dash if they can’t repeat an order correctly for the customer that is ordering. I have ordered from sugar and spice before and now I just may stick to ordering over the phone myself...
Read moreI visited this restaurant with a guest on a Thursday at around 11 am.
At the counter you order, pay and they bring the food over to the table where you put a number they give you in the number sign stand.
I ordered the Homerun breakfast which includes two eggs cooked any style with a choice of ham, bacon or sausage + pancakes or French toast. I also ordered a large coffee.
My guest ordered a BLT on white bread with a serving of fresh fruit.
Everything totaled $32.66
There is value here with quality of food vs cost!
My meal was delectable! I’ve eaten here now around 3-4 times and have not been disappointed yet!
My eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage a flat patty that was also good and the pancakes were thin but hearty and made very well! There was some home fries added on the side and I cleaned my plate!
Large coffee was good but nothing to write home about. Not sure if they offer different roasts or flavors but if not, they should!
Atmosphere when I dined this time was good. Only a handful of tables occupied although on other occasions I have seen this place full. The seating is spaced enough and comfortable with some table having “booth seats” (like in a diner) on one side and small wooden chairs on the other. I do wish they added some cushioned seats but it was comfortable enough for me!
Chefs and those preparing the food should get a raise! Servers and cashiers are pleasant! The quality of the food and friendly atmosphere with simple decor would absolutely qualify as an establishment I would recommend...
