Lily, the home goods shift manager was extremely rude to me and my fiancĂ©. We came in trying to return an item we purchased a few weeks ago for store credit because we could not find the receipt. The clerk called over the home goods manager, lily and they walked over to the side and had a discussion. The clerk came back over and told us we would not be getting the full amount for the return. We would only receive a portion of it. Obviously we were confused and asked why we wouldnât get the full amount in store credit. We asked the clerk if she could explain why and she called the manager back over. The manager lily, extremely rude and short, told us that we could only return it for a discounted amount because it was reduced in their system. We purchased the item a few weeks prior so this was a bit confusing. When asking why that was, she exclaimed loudly and rudely, âWhy would I lie to you? I have no reason to lie to you?â Trying to make a scene infront of the other employees and managers on shift. We simply asked to see if it was reduced on their scanner because when it was scanned into the register from the tag, it was the full amount we purchased it for not the reduced price. Weâve returned items in the past without the receipt for store credit and never had a hard time before. They just scanned it back in, scanned our ID and sent us on our way. Iâm not sure if itâs just because the clerk was new or something but regardless, the manager lily was extremely rude and should not be working in any place with customer service. The Tjmaxx manager on the other hand who talked to us afterward was extremely nice and polite. Even though he couldnât do anything for us he apologized for her rudeness and attitude. There would not have been a problem if she wasnât so nasty and rude to us, just explaining that the system reduced the item over time politely would have been the end of that conversation and return without a problem. However, as a customer who comes often itâs disappointing knowing this is one of the shift managers of the âhome goodsâ side of the store. She obviously doesnât have a ounce of customer service in her veins. She should shadow and take notes from the TJmaxx manager on how to actually speak to a...
Read moreWent in on Monday 7/10 with an agenda to find a new bathroom soap pump to replace my broken one. I found the perfect dispenser that was the only one of its kind for a fair price compared to the others in stock and when in the checkout line the power went out and the staff had everyone evacuate the building. During the process they asked each customer if they wanted to place their items on hold to pick up later in the night or the next day, which I did because I really had my eye set on it and even offered to pay cash up front to leave with it but unfortunately they couldnât. I came back today and once I made it to the register the cashier couldnât find my soap dispenser, I gave her my name and even showed her a photo of it that I took just in case. Unfortunately they could not find it as they searched through the couple of carts piled up my the TJMAXX entrance filled with items on hold, the cashier who was kind to help me went back and fourth with 2 completely different ones trying to assist me as well. When I asked if there was the chance I could pick a new one out for the same price as the one that got lost the neighboring cashier was very rude and said they couldnât help me any further. Iâm in complete understanding when a sudden power outage happens itâs panic but to use that as the only excuse on why they couldnât find the item that had a tag with my name on it for pickup is disappointing. To not be helped for a mistake and disorganization on the staffs part but rather talked to in such a manner that put a higher annoyance that I already had after losing out on such a perfect item and not getting a chance to speak and cut off by the neighboring cashier was a very disappointing and upsetting experience. Not to mention the entirety of everyone who helped the cashier I was with, looked confused and didnât know how to handle this type of situation. Iâm beyond disappointed and annoyed on how today was handled, but I hope in the future for any instance like this no one has to experience such a rude and...
Read moreThe old store across the street was very spacious! This new store is too small and too crowded and there is less merchandise to choose from. They lost a lot of square footage when they built it. The aisles are extremely narrow. If someone has a small shopping cart in the aisle and you have a small shopping cart in the same aisle, you can't get past each other. You have to back out of the aisle. The aisles are, also, extremely short. There used to be a large selection of everything. Now there is a very limited selection. Each individual department is very small and limited. The merchandise is thrown all over the shelves. Recently, I was looking for some fancy dinnerware. The selection was very limited and there were chipped and broken plates on the shelves. I couldn't find 2 plates that were in decent enough condition to purchase. The matching salad bowls were across the aisle and if I hadn't turned completely around I would have never seen them. Too many damaged items on the shelves. The store gets extremely crowded and at times, it is impossible to find a parking spot. I've had to park all the way over in Wendy's parking lot. The clothing section is just as bad, especially the shoe section. Clothes and shoes are all over the place and a mess. The line for the registers is still a nightmarish mile long. The staff is not friendly at all and not helpful at all. Actually, the staff has not been friendly at all and have never been out on the floor to help, even in the old store. The crowding in this store is a sure way to spread COVID! I will not be returning to this store. It's easier to shop online or in...
