Diddy’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Ramapo

This sucks because I want to like this place since the owner is a cool guy but it’s really mid. For starters this “soul food” doesn’t hit your soul the mac n cheese is horrible like I’m talking a disgrace to the race bad. The cornbread is hard and dry and when it’s soft it’s still dry. All meals I’ve tried aren’t restaurant quality more like that one uncle who says he knows how to cook at the BBQ type of quality but in reality he only knows prison recipes. You get the point right? In a town like this i imagine most are gonna find this spot to be nice just cause of the looks and parties/drinks but I can assure you anyone who’s actually had soul food or Caribbean food is not eating here on the regular. I gotta give it 1 star cause the events are nice but I truly am convinced that the events and cool owner are the only things this place has going for itself. Though in a town like Suffern this type of restaurant doesn’t have much competition. I really did wanna like this place but after trying muitple meals I can honestly say this place is pretty bad and that’s being kind. A cool design with live music and nice bar cannot save you from a mediocre attempt at jerk seasoning or disgraceful mac and cheese. And smaller items like the wings and burgers yea they are just quick heat food no homemade batter no handmade patties just stuff you literally can buy from Walmart and make yourself so ignore that side of the menu for your kids sake. I want to see black owned business win but the food the portions the kids menu all of it made me really depressed for our people genuinely makes me sad this...

This is by far one of the worst dining experiences ever. My wife and I order whiting fish with kale and Mac and cheese. Appetizer was fried shrimp. The shrimp wasn’t great it clearly was out of a box. Wasn’t like they were so busy they couldn’t use fresh shrimp and batter it. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, the entrees came out. One whole piece of whiting cut in half. Mind you, whiting fish isn’t expensive at all. The kale was horrible. So dry I took one bite and left it there. The Mac and cheese tasted like Kraft out of the box. This restaurant is an embarrassment and clearly they lost any and every sense of authenticity they may have had in the past. I wouldn’t feed my dog this food. The Chef/Owner never came by once to ask how our food was. He didn’t care. I will never support them again. I feel like I got robbed. The atmosphere was as horrible as the food. The guy singing was horrible. Please don’t go to Diddy’s it’s a complete waste...

Gonna be real honest this restaurant isn’t bad as far as rice,chicken,salmon, and cornbread this restaurant is a star. But the Mac n Cheese is absolutely positively disgraceful as a fellow Haitian it’s literally disappointing how that Mac n cheese taste. Only reason I mention this is b/c Mac n cheese is an essential part of soul food. For your Mac n cheese to lack all your other dishes must be exceptional and they aren’t they are just good. The powef/attraction of the restaurant doesn’t come from the food but the design and the energy the owner (diddy) displays. He incorporates his daring smile into the restaurant which helps it feels homey and even glow @ night. Without him I firmly believe nobody would even think to go here especially in a town like Suffern. 3/5 cause the food is good but nothing like the Haitian cuisine you can eat in the city or even...
