Finally, a unique dining experience in the area! Beautifully designed for fine dining, the atmosphere is both classy and comfortable, which don't always go hand in hand. At first look, it's obvious there's lots of special attention to detail, down to even the convenient purse hooks at every bar stool. The wine vault was crafted keeping the old bank vault door, and impeccably decorated for a more intimate dining experience. I don't know anything about wine, but the wine menu is vast and I can definitely vouch for the Italian beer. The food is absolutely incredible. The pairings on the charcuterie board includes items like Nutella paired with blue cheese, lemon creme paired with drunken goat cheese, fig spread paired with brie, plus an assortment of meats with hard cheeses and artisanal breads. The bread and olive oil board is also a must, along with a ricotta cheese and honey spread. The Caesar salad with chicken is plentiful, the meatballs are so flavorful with an incredible cheesy tomato sauce, and the buratta has the most amazing texture and taste with a paired honey drizzle that is perfection. The hangar steak melts in your mouth, the mushroom truffle pizza has an incredible burst of flavor with a nice thin bread crust. This was my first time having Caviar and it was surprisingly sweet and tasteful mixed with egg whites, egg yolks, scallions, fresh creme and little pancakes. For dessert, I can't rave enough about the cheesecake and the little cups of fruit with gelato. The prices are in line with the dining experience and this place is excellent for an intimate date, an office outing, a business meeting or a family celebration. Lloyd has such a calm and patient demeanor, and is readily available to answer all questions or make expert recommendations to enhance your dining experience. Since opening only a month ago, I have dined here several times for both lunch and dinner and the food and atmosphere is always consistently amazing. I have no doubt this will quickly become a popular spot and I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreI don’t often write reviews, nor dine out for Italian cuisine, however, we stopped into Lavagna for a quick drink at the bar… …we ended up staying for the amazing deal (Fridays and Saturdays 8pm+ = $10 cocktails that include a free mini pizza for every odd number of drinks ordered!) and left thoroughly impressed with the service, food, and cocktails (they recently received their liquor license)!
Highly recommend everything we had: Drinks- Il Giardino Frizzante (light and refreshing), Tyson&Tank (love the passionfruit and you don’t taste much of the habanero nor campari so don’t be afraid to order), Cacio e Pepe martini (a unique try, peppery but surprisingly well balanced; savory for sure), and our favorite Rosso Corsa (sweet but not overly, creamy but not heavy, delightfully fruity but not overbearing-this will now be my go-to). Food- Nonnas Meatballs (4 tender flavorful balls of goodness with both a red and white sauce - savory, creamy, and delightfully light), the special Pasta Pisitoscana (perfectly textured homemade spaghetti with a delicious ragu - our first, and not the last, time trying rabbit), and the mini Pinsas (both Figs & Pepperoni-perfect with a hot honey drizzle-and Black Truffle and Porcini Mushroom-decadent and earthy; they could only be made tastier from the fact that they were on the house!). Everything was 10/10-don’t sleep on this phenomenal restaurant! Kudos to the curators, chefs, managers/owners, and thank you to the lovely staff - we will be...
Read moreI have no idea how this restaurant has the average rating that I've seen posted (4.8/4.9) online, based on my brunch experience today. The person who appeared to be the manager was on his phone behind the bar, while the service providers looked lost and confused the entire time. The $45 per person brunch that boasted bottomless drinks (mimosas or coffee) makes sense when you realize that getting even one drink took over 45 minutes. We didn't receive our first "course" until 45 minutes and our main until an 1.5 hours after we sat down. There seemed to be a reluctance to make eye contact, although our service providers seemed to apologize anytime they came to our table (when they came). Two of our party had the pancakes to start but no butter or syrup were provided even after we asked for them. My main entree (an omelette) came with two pieces of barely toasted french bread with no butter, jam or garnish on the plate. I can count on one hand the number of times I have not provided a tip....this time will go on the one hand. It's not just that the kitchen was slow (it was), it's not just that the meal promised (bottomless anything) wasn't, it not just that the manager was inattentive (he wasn't), it's that everyone in that restaurant failed in a way that led to a completely unpleasant...
