Disappointed.... In 2018, my last semester of my degree (Criminal Justice), at least every week I would eat at this location 1-2 times. It was an extremely nice place to eat at, very respectable staff always staying on top of cleanliness.
After I graduated in December I never had a reason to eat there as I wasn't in school all day. So I went in on March 8, 2019 two days after my birthday to celebrate at my favorite restaurant.
When I walked into HuHot I was greeted at a desk which had me pay right there which I liked so I could just get it over with. It was confusing though as to why they asked for a tip seeing how you get everything yourself.
When I went up with my girlfriend to get food I noticed the man with the beard wasn't cooking there anymore but a women (not a big deal I was just use to the other guy).
All three times I went up to get my food cooked she would cross contaminate my food with other people's food/sauces (I don't get sauce with my food so it was obvious when there was sauce on my food).
Was very lazy about cleaning the stove (god have mercy on my food if she was cooking behind closed door). After we left I was extremely disappointed.
I decided to give HuHot another chance April 26, 2019. Same process, when we went up to get some food it was perfect I was so excited that it was so much better in terms of cleanliness, the same women but seemed better (not busy at all).
By the time we went up a second time she poured mine on the stove and my girlfriends right next to mine. I noticed though she did a half job on the whole cleaning stove part, as the stove below my girlfriends food had a bunch of burnt grub. And sure enough she scraped it all on the plate.
I was very upset and I brought it up with the manager which has been there since I was still in school, I thought it was great because he would definitely help fix the issue, long story short he didn't he tried to make up excuses every chance he got.
He asked what he could do for me, finally came down to his beeper going off and he had to get appetizers out of the oven and would talk to the cook as he basically just turned around walked into the kitchen for a minute or two (with the cook still outside of the kitchen cooking) and he just walked out with food and ate it in the back room, so I guess it was his lunch break.
I just can't believe such a long time customer was treated like this, I wasn't looking for special treatment, free dinner, or a damn cookie. I just wanted the dang cook to stop cross contaminating everyone's food.
Overall it's better than greasy china restaurant food. But just on the way they treated me and the "NEW" cooks pure lazyiness for keeping the stove clean and making sure everyone's food is seperate is just disappointing.
Would I recommend this place? Yes, just not this location anymore...

It is very possible that after 3 tries, I still couldn't find a sauce that I thought complemented my plate, so I'll give that area the benefit of the doubt. Still, the meats appear to be freezer-burnt strips and taste like it, too. I may be a very picky eater but my husband is just the opposite, as is the guest we took with us. Neither of them was happy either. We gave up eventually. I explained to our server that although not their fault, we didn't really care for anything. We ordered Crab Rangoon to share instead. I'm used to sweet and sour sauce to accompany them but the sauce tasted like teriyaki. I asked for a box to take them home and eat with my own sweet and sour... that never came. I went and got a box from the manager myself. I then sent my husband and friend to the car while it took 15 minutes to get my bill and actually pay it. I stood at my table during that time with my credit card in hand and nobody asked me if I needed anything. I watched our server chatting with folks in the kitchen as it appeared to be shift change. The man next to me had asked her for a soda before she had gone there. He finished his entire plate before she ever came out. I thought I had handled our situation appropriately when I told her none of us cared for the food. That should have been her first clue that we weren't staying for more. To make us stay there as long as we did while she socialized, ignoring her other table as well, is just bad all the way around. I didn't bother approaching the manager. If he was concerned about our experience, he should have paid more attention to the floor. The reason for the 2 stars is the same reason a place like this will keep its doors open... the staff working the grill (appeared to be happy, were friendly and entertained the guests), the ladies at the host station and the unknown server that took care of my bill and apologized on everybody's behalf. Read moreRead to the end. Myself and 2 others ate at HuHot on Rib Mtn Dr. last Sunday night (2/26/17) at about 7:30. The food was terrific, as always! :D Our waitress and grill masters were super friendly and fascinating! Always a good meal and a good time! And I always bring extra dollars for tipping the good service here. :) However... again, the place was a mess. :\ Employees everywhere so we must have JUST missed a rush, but only a few tables had customers. And Not One of the empty tables was clean. The place was pretty trashed. I felt silly as I stood in line waiting so long to be seated and have so many employees pass me saying they'll be right with me but hardly any customers in the place. We were finally seated after they "cleaned" a spot for us, and I sat on something from a previous meal. We get our bowls and go through the empty line picking out our items. Of course they're scrambled around some, but it's frozen and fresh, so I didn't care, as much as some others may... until I got to the sauces... I went for the Meek and Mild and in each of the ladles there were chunks of other people's food. I had to dump it out before skimming sauce from the top to not pick that up again. There was an employee there "cleaning", I swear she saw my problem, but she only wiped around a few things and literally just stood around that corner almost our whole time there. We were there maybe an hr and by the time we left the place was still messy and going to take some work to get clean before close, and the sauces still had food in them. One other sad thing was that the waitress didn't get to the cooks on time before we went through the line so they didn't do the happy birthday shout out when we were waiting for it.
