I came back for the dinner. I’ve had lunch here a few times and enjoyed being here. The place was hopping on a Tuesday night. Wait servers are very good and I’m sure this place which’s only open two months have some kinks to be worked out. We had a bruschetta appetizer on the best Italian bread imaginable. The shiitake mushroom were flavorful. I had the tagliatelle with shrimp and shiitake mushroom in a tomato sauce. My son had wide pasta with a short rib sauce. Both were excellent. We ended with coffee and Regina cookies. The chef came out and greeted the patrons. Prices are reasonable. Come for dinner. You are eating Sicilian. Buona fortuna Marco.
March 2022. I came with a dear friend for lunch. We ordered two appetizers for our meal. Mozzarella in Carrozza and fritta misto which was a calamari dish I had here before. The mozzarella is house made. Two pieces. Perfect for us to share. We of course shared the calamari which included three shrimp and two zucchini slices. We ended with cafe americano which was served with house made Regina cookies (sesame seed). Perfect lunch. Quality remains consistent. Wait servers were very attentive and informative.
April 2022. I brought very close friends here who were visiting from Massachusetts. I made some recommendations. Fritto misto, perfectly prepared calamari shrimp and a few zucchini in this appetizer, mozzarella in carrozza that had such delicious house-made fried mozzarella, pasta norma, ravioli with light sauce, and of course caffè served with regina cookies. They loved it.
September 2022. I came with friends who have been here before. The prices were raised quite a bit. This turned them off. We love old world Italian food and there is another place in this town that we now go to whose price increases are not as substantial. Sad. I love this place but they are right about pricing. Mario will have lost the older restaurant diners if prices keep going up.
Pn the feast of st. Joseph I brought my son and his two children here to celebrate the feast of the patron saint of Sicily. However nothing special on the menu for the special day. We order as appetizer the calamari. When it came to out table it was a disgrace. Half the portion no shrimp or crispy zucchini. I told the waiter to bring it to the chef I wasn’t going to pay the listed price for that dish. The wife came out, apologized profusely. The rest of the meal was...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant twice. I was on a business trip and my coworkers and I decided to dine in and were treated well by the staff. The food was good but the cocktail I had was really bad. No problem, the staff was friendly and I tossed it off as being a little mistake. However, two days later I ordered their chicken penne pasta through Clover to pick up and eat at the hotel. I arrived at the time the app told me and waited behind a couple to be helped. An older man asked if we wanted a table and when I mentioned I was picking up food he made a rude “joke” about not needing to help me. True to his “joke” he sat the couple and went to talk to a table and never came back. Another young girl came to the podium and rudely asked what I wanted. I explained again and she left. I watched her walk all over the restaurant doing other things until coming back to ask me if I had paid. I had. She then told me to see the guy behind the back counter. I went and waited there. I watched the girl and the guy behind the counter talk. He went to the kitchen and came back with a bag. Without even a hello he asked what I ordered. Then he asked if I paid. I said yes. He didn’t believe me. He asked how I ordered and I said through Clover. He asked me again if I had called the order or used Clover and made hand motions as if I was an idiot not understanding him. He was not listening to my simple answer. I even had the confirmation email ready. He kept moving the bag away from me but eventually gave me the food when I told him I had already paid for the third time. I got home to cold, underwhelming, bland pasta. When I tried to call the restaurant to speak to a manager no one answered. I left a voicemail and I highly doubt they’ll call back. I was very saddened by the experience as all I wanted was some good simple penne pesto. This place is like rolling dice. Maybe they’ll treat you well, maybe they won’t and if you’re lucky the pasta might be good. Spend your...
