Caruso's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Town of Riverhead

Mixed review. Why? Their Sicilian pie is the best in Suffolk. However, they don't like making it. Half the time in the evening they only have one or two slices, and will not make a new pie for you if you want three or four. Other pizzerias do. Also, on the weekend they often refuse to make a Sicilian pie. They say they don't have the dough. But you call a few minutes later and another person says they have it. Obviously, some people there just don't want to make it. That's bad business.

Edit: Thanks for your reply, but even since your reply I called and attempted to order Sicilian slices and was told you didn't have enough. At 5pm on a weekend. Other pizzerias just put another one in the oven. It will sell if people know you have it. As good as it is, half the time I just order inferior pizza elsewhere because I know you'll not have what I want, a basic staple...

i have loved this pizza...BUT today i went in the dining room because they always said no slice in there unless u get food and i wanted a salad....so the girl in front told me to order from her because the waitress was busy....i got settled and she walked in with the slice and told me her "boss" (probably the pizza man with attitude)said i had to leave the dining room even with the salad....i was mortified.....very badly handled....i had already paid....i got my $$$ back and i won't be back. .....i may have increased my order if they handled it right....in contrast sergios even got out an extension cord and plugged...

Taste like English muffin pizza made with ragu; take that as you see it. They are pretty pricey too, amazingly they charge tax too, every other place in NY includes tax but they ask for it. Ask for a receipt make sure they show tax, that way the IRS really gets your money and not a phony we charge tax but pocket it.

They also don’t have a menu to take home for reference to call later if you want to; you never know what they are going to charge without it printed. I guess they figure a sucker is born every day and they don’t need to print there menu...
