Abby's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Saugerties

The rudest service I have ever encountered. I went here with my spouse. He made it clear that he is allergic to soy and asked if there is soy in the veggie burger. The waitress checked and came back to say that one option does not have soy. So he went with that option. Halfway through his burger, he realized he was eating a patty full of soy beans. As soon as he informed the waitress and asked to have it removed from our bill, her demeanor immediately changed from friendly to defensive and aggressive. She argued that the beans are not soy beans, they are avocado. This was simply not true. They were literally soy beans. She then told us she would not remove it because he ate half of it already. Her accusatory demeanor was as though he purposely ate half then asked to have it taken off. She told him he’s just having a bad day and taking it out on her. We asked to speak to the manager and were told they are out of the country. We were given a number to call to complain. It is disconnected. This was absolutely ridiculous. We will now deal with him being ill for the next 3 days. Mistakes happen in all industries. But there was no bit of an apology or any attempt to rectify the issue that this waitress caused. Abby’s personnel is just fantastic, so attentive and made sure we had the food service we needed timely. We loved their salads entree and the Prime ribs and Salmon we ordered came out so delicious with the perfect temperature and price, We’ll certainly keep this place in mind,especially when you can dine with beautiful view.

We came from intense exercise, so the portions were greatly satisfying. We’ll say this is the best spot in all the area specially if you’re looking for healthy food and balanced diet.

Came in having never been and also very hungry... Katherine our server was very polite and patient (I can always be such a handful to deal with). I ordered Abby's Margarita, The Tex Mex Nachos and a Philly Cheese Steak Wrap. The Margarita was good, the nachos were delicious, the Philly was amazing. I must say tho... The Long Island that I asked Katherine to make for me having been her first time ever making... Was one of the best I've ever drank.
