Yesterday evening, I made the mistake of ordering dinner from Fords. I moved back to the Richmond area and was looking forward to trying it last night. I placed a togo order and went to go pick up my food. Once I arrived at the host stand, there were two hosts standing there that went on to ignore me for about 4 minutes as I stood in the empty lobby of the restaurant hoping to get my food that was sitting between them on the host stand. The bag was not even securely closed to keep the food temperature somewhat warm. The hostesses were too busy making fun of a party sitting across the restaurant or they were making mean jokes about their own coworkers. I could not fully comprehend what was being said, but it was mean. It was extremely unprofessional to walk into the restaurant and not be greeted, standing for a few minutes in front of the host stand being ignored by not one but two hosts, when there is no one else in the lobby just because the hostesses want to be mean and rude and make fun of their coworkers or other guest that are dining at the restaurant. I finally got fed up and requested for the hostess Jadyn to please help me with my pick up order, I pointed to the counter, as I noticed it was sitting there ( sadly no temp control for my made) she looked at me and said to wait a minute, and instead of handing me my food, she walked away from the hostess stand. The young man seeemed embarrassed and asked if the bag on the counter was mine, I nodded and he finally handed it to me. Honestly on a Saturday night please have professional hostess who do not make paying guests feel uncomfortable. I do not plan to dine here again as I would not feel comfortable with the way the hostesses were acting. I was not sure if they were making fun of guest in the restaurant or their own peers. Either way it was extremely unprofessional and left a really bad taste in my mouth. I’m really disappointed in the way the food was packed. It was literally thrown in a bag, and it was not temperature controlled at all. It was just cold. It could’ve been left under a heating lamp or in the back kitchen and the hostess could go grab it from the kitchen. Just overall really disappointed in the experience. It seems the hosts do not care, and will be making fun of you or their own peers. Extremely...
Read more(The second visit)Jessica the GM at the restaurant and Jen Paci from corporate are quite simply complete pros. They responded to my first review with real concern which brought me back for a second try. Upon that try our server Olivia was very pleasant and efficient. Like the first review the food is very good and we've definitely added Fords to our dine out circle...... (First visit) First and foremost the hamburger is actually a really good burger. The problem and the only 2 star rating has to do with the poor service. First it took at least 5 min before a server approached our table. Having worked in the business :30 - 1 min is critical with at least making contact. Just a quick stop by "hello...., I'm _...." sets the entire meal. Then once the order was placed, with both burgers well done, it took 30 plus minutes for our food and only after tracking down the server to ask about it. Then it arrives and mine was medium - medium well but I ate it anyway because of hunger and waiting too long as is. My wife on the other hand was bloody red and unacceptable. She also asked the server when she ordered for a side of mayo, that wasn't on the plate. So once she cut into the burger and saw the rare meat it took a minute to track down the server again. We had to ask another server to find ours. The server apologized and said the manager would come over. That also too awhile. The saving grace is that the manager Javi was a complete pro and showed genuine concern for what we were saying. They remade my wife's burger and Javi offered dessert and he took care the entire meal. That's not what we were asking for although I did appreciate it. The way Javi showed concern and professionalism is the reason we'll give it another go. Prior to Javi we'd decided that we'd never be back. So recap great tasting burger but poor service but completely made good by...
Read moreTried Ford's Garage this evening for the first time. Our friends wanted to treat us so we thought why not? I don't think I'll be back. Our server was definitely inexperienced. She was overwhelmed to say the least. I ordered a burger without cheese and a gluten free bun. I told the server I'm allergic to gluten (mildly). I definitely ordered the wrong burger (my fault) bc it came out with an egg and bacon on it. They offered to make a new one. I declined but they made one anyway. My husband and son's burgers both came out completely wrong and it took more than 30 minutes for them to make new ones. While waiting for the new burgers, our server dumped an entire Lemonade on my husband. It was a mistake and she was very apologetic. I get it. Next, our server comes out to tell me that the fries are NOT gluten free. I had already eaten some of them. Great. They once again offered to make me something else. Ok. I just wanted to leave by that point. The manager comes out with the new burgers and tells us we will not have to pay for the mistakes. Gee thanks. The server then quickly brings our check. No dessert offered. My son then ordered a dessert. Server comes back to say they only have key lime pie. Nothing else. Wth. Our friends pick up the tab. Nothing was taken off the bill. My husband asks for the manager who tells my husband that 10% off the bill is fair! Um no. They settled on comping the drinks and appys. The place is cute. The service is horrendous. The manager left a lot to be desired. Oh best part? They let a woman and her dog sit at the bar. The dog was walking on the bar. Not a service dog. I am a dog lover. I have two dogs. What would Ford's Garage think if I brought my Great Dane into their restaurant and let him walk on the bar??? Absolutely disgusting and I believe a health code violation. Ford's Garage you need to do...
