The very best food I've ever tasted in my life was last Friday night party of 30 upstairs with a rowdy bunch of us from all different services brought together & most people didn't know each other but their was some very rowdy cats in our company for sure to say the least .
I know the night started off not so perfect but I wasn't their for that so it didn't effect my wife & I who were returning from a wake of my very best friend. I was told the party began (Seating was 8pm and I gave heads up to my host of course) we arrived at 9:30pm thinking we'd be maybe getting some left overs and desert if that but little to anyone's knowledge the host told everyone 8pm and reservations were for 9pm which still put us 30 minutes behind the line but I got a text where are you at 9:12pm where are you so I thought I missed it and pressed the gas a bit not over doing it but moved into the left lane to be realistic. When we arrived I bypassed the valet & we jumped out and ran into the Beautiful Restaurant & looked everywhere but upstairs. I finally asked for the "Zaccaro Party" and we were looked with a smile by the entire staff with a synchronized answer of "Upstairs" so we knew that's where the action was at .
We didn't know how many people were really coming but we saw about 30 people very few faces I recognized & we were at the other side of the head of the table facing the host "Gary Zaccaro" hosted by Ambassador Home Improvement which was what the celebration was meant for .
I noticed a very sarcastic vibe going on between The gentlemen next to me his wife & the wait staff until I realized that they literally just were sat 4 minutes before we arrived and I missed yelling and stressing over a pregnant woman who needed to eat without any doubt I agree with especially when you have reservations told 1 hour earlier were the 1st to arrive & then the table delay .
They brought us 5 of every single appetizer on the menu & I mean flooded the table which was all eaten like we were a pack of wolves & the wait staff really took our sarcastic tones very well as they were professionals white glove services not something they've not experienced but the food kept coming & toasts were made .
I will be back to Mannino's Italian Kitchen 110% without a doubt soon & the only thing I could say that was noticed in service was that they were very slow on bringing me soda but the alcohol which was more important was always flowing & I had water to back me up anyway so getting the soda 45 minutes after I ordered it is what I call one human mistake that is because we're human and that's totally ok cause I could've spoke up again but it came eventually so I give this place a 5 star rating for food and to put up with the most difficult people possible lol . They are on my list to return to asap.
Wow the pasta course a la vodka...

My girlfriend and I arrived at around 6:15 Friday night, expecting it to be busy and a wait as they do not take reservations. Wait was told to be just over an hour, and my girlfriend was really looking forward to trying this place so we decided to stay.
The downstairs bar was packed so we made our way upstairs to the smaller bar, which was busy but nowhere near the standards to downstairs. After our hour wait, it became apparent that we were no closer to getting seated than when we started. People that were sitting at the bar when we walked in were still there. Parties were walking in, and within a few mins were getting a table. It soon became apparent that if you "were a friend" of the manager, you received the next open table. At about an hour and a half waiting, two couples standing next to us in the bar area noticed this after they watched a party give their name to the hostess and immediately be seated at the next open table, they didn't even wait long enough to get a drink from the bar. They confronted the manager, who immediately noticing that he was caught, offered them the next table that opened up as an apolgy.
I went down to the hostess stand to see where we were in regards to the wait after watching what happened. At this point the list was about 6 pages long, and I watched them flip though the pages. We were on page 2, still with about 6 parties in front if us. I counted about 20-30 parties behind us that were crossed off the list. When confronting the hostess about taking people out of order she said, "I know its not right, but that is what I am being told to do".
I was ready to leave, but the girlfriend wanted to stay. After just over two hours of waiting, a spot opened up at the bar and we decided to eat there. Seconds after ordering the hostess came upstairs looking for us and offered us a table, which we declined. At this point we were starving, and a little buzzed after two hours and a couple of drinks on an empty stomach. We ordered an appetizer and entrees which we rushed through, as we had plans to be somewhere 9:30.
Overall the food was good. The bartender that took care of us was excellent, and never missed a beat. But, due to the managements decision to seat certain parties ahead of others, it was not an enjoyable experience at all.
There are plenty of other restaurants on Long Island that have the common courtesy to treat all of their customers as family, and those are the establishments that I would...
Read moreHad to drop a few stars after tonight, let me explain. I received a gift certificate today for $100. My wife and I tend to go out on Friday nights after work for dinner so we figured we would try this out. My last 2 experiences here, an office Xmas party several years ago and a business mixer, both of which I didn't remember having any issues. Back to tonight, started out fine, though mandatory valet when the lot is empty is a little annoying, we started with sparkling water and the "Bacon Tomato Tower". The appatizer was VERY good, albeit a little difficult to cut and eat. But can't go wrong with bacon. Next our entrees. I have a Cesar salad with Salmon, my wife chicken parm. My salad was bland, but fresh and the salmon was cooked perfectly, but also very bland. I tried my wife's chicken parm, the chicken, like the salmon was fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked, but also just like the salmon the sauce used in the parm was very bland. All in all, it was mediocre at best with price tags that don't match. Hell, I wasn't even paying and it still bothered me how over priced it was. Now dessert we decided to share a creme brulee. Well that was a bad choice. It wasn't even warm and they must have "bruleed" it the day before. And for $12, was quite disappointing. Now for the part that just made us mad. Remember that gift certificate I mentioned before, well our bill came out to 102$. More than I was expecting but I didn't care. So I knew I needed change for the valet outside because walking 12 feet from the door to my car doesn't work here, so I gave the gift certificate and a $10 bill, the smallest I had ( and really all I had because I never have cash, but always confirm with my wife that she has some cash before we use a gift certificate) For some reason the waiter assumed that the remaining 8$ was his tip, and his demeanor changed significantly. Is this a thing, do people think that don't have to tip with a gift certificate? I had a 20% tip in cash for when he came back with my receipt to leave in the little book, but he assumed I was stiffing him and complained that he "didn't have change"....eventually he found me 8 singles, I left the 20% tip then proceeded to the door. Tldr version: you are paying for atmosphere, if you want to have a few drinks and mediocre food in a very trendy place, this is it. If you want some good Italian food, go down the block...
