I have heard the hype about Ruth's Chris for years but had never been to one until yesterday. I made a reservation for four people on open table. One of the questions asked is if this is for a special occasion. As we were celebrating two birthdays, I noted that. We received a notification fifteen minutes prior to our reservation stating that our table was ready. We were seated on time and the table had birthday confetti on it, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly, attentive and our server was very nice. She was happy to answer our questions. and was very familiar with the menu. We ordered salads, fish, a vegetarian broccoli steak and two filet mignon's. The size of the salads was fine. The Caesar salad had more cheese than lettuce and the dressing was quite bland. The rest of the salads were fine. Our meals came out shortly after we finished the salads which was great. While all of the steaks were cooked perfectly, one of the filets appeared to be the fatty end piece. One of the managers came by to check on us and when we mentioned it to her, she took it back, brought another one and also brought a complimentary side dish. The replacement steak was also cooked perfectly and was exactly what one would expect a filet to be. I am by no means a steak expert but out of all of the steakhouses that I have been to, the steak here was the blandest I have had. It was not a bad steak, but other than it being cooked in butter, there was not a lot of flavor. Insignia, Tellers, Blackstone and a few others have far more flavorful steaks in my opinion. What we found odd is that the plates that the steaks were served on were not much bigger than the steaks themselves. There was no where to put the sides. The price here was on par with the other steakhouses that I just mentioned. This location was a vacant Bonefish Grill that Ruth's Chirs basically spruced up for their use. There is nothing fancy about it. The mens bathroom was dirty, with dried urine on the floor and on the toilet, which is surprising as they had only been open an hour when we arrived. The rear fire exit was blocked with chairs, which is not only illegal, but it's extremely dangerous and not acceptable...
Read moreWe came here for my husband’s birthday dressed up. There were guests in swim shorts and tank tops all around us. When you spend $500+ you expect a certain dress code to be adhered to.
First strike: I asked for limes with my pelligrino and never came, first request upon sitting down.
Second strike: I told the waitress I wanted limes, she forgot.
Third strike: I ordered another bottle of pelligrino and no one brought it.
Fourth strike: I told the waitress I ordered another bottle and she was surprised, and took the one they forgot off of the bill. I asked for PLAIN WATER then as my glass had been empty most of the meal. She forgot this too. Nothing to sip on. (And I’m paying!)
Fifth strike: A friend suggested speaking to the owner/manager and asking for the nice waitress who was a single mom, it was her friend. When I asked about the owners name, the waitress sarcastically responded, “um, the owner’s name is Ruth??”
I gave this place 3 stars because the food was excellent and my husband forced me lol. I get better service at Applebee’s, it was inexperienced fine dining night when we went I guess.
The environment is typical, wine bottles displayed, neutral colors. The lights were too bright, also made me feel like we were eating at a cheaper restaurant.
The management checked in and I said everything was ok because I didn’t want to ruin my husband’s day.
Not worth the money spent unless you pick the dinner prefix 3 course meal.
I wasn’t going to write this review but after I completed the survey and Sheryl promised me someone from Lake Grove would contact me and they didn’t, here I am.
Our waitress was inviting and friendly, besides the snarky owner comment. They do a nice birthday dessert decoration though.
Would not go back unless I wore flip flops and ordered the prefix. Probably rather go to Texas Roadhouse for the...
Read moreWell in my opinion just a below average steakhouse that just is brand new. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the hostess and were given a large table for 2 people. However, after this my experience was pretty negative. For starters, the drinks came out after the appetizers which is pretty ridiculous considering I only order 1 drink and a lemonade. Plus, you guys charged us 10$ for TWO LEMONADES which is absolutely absurd and my drink was almost 36$ for a pour that is 50$ for the entire bottle. The appetizer, Fried Calamari wasn't too bad the sauce was pretty good and the calamari tasted how it should of. When my steaks came out, the steaks were cooked correct, and the meat was fine so that's at least some points for this place. Now one thing that was really disappointing was your dessert menu, you only had 4 items on that menu which is absolutely ridiculous for a world class steakhouse. You guys have millions if not billions of dollars, so why don't you expand your menu a bit, you can make a lot more money by doing that. However, the biggest disappoint was the service since our server was very slow when we asked for things and he took about 15 minutes to get us our check, plus we saw him bring out the drinks for nearby tables after their appetizers as well. Definitely not worth 300$ for 2 people since i've gotten a better experience in other restaurants for almost half the price, and this place its 10 miles away from where I live so I won't be returning to this location anytime soon. What a shame what Ruth Chris, a once luxurious steakhouse has become, you guys used to be one of the best in the business but now your only a second rate steakhouse who charges exorbitant prices for your stuff, what a...
