If you are an ex-city folk like moi and are still heartsick over the demise of Sherry-Lehman look no further than this place. I admit the name doesn't scream top hats and white tie cue Astaire but the prices will make you tap dance in these days of Bidenomics.
Some of the complaints about the same labels not being carried all the time didn't bother us. We like trying something new so it worked for us..
If you order online it makes the experience worth it more. We picked up. A very nice young man would always call when orders needed adjusting. Must say was always a ray of sunshine and very polite when handing us our order.
We ordered every other month for a few years.
Online only because of the in-store shopping experience was...meh.
The manager, think Moe Slizylack from The Simpsons, walked around with keys dangling from his pocket like he's about to go clean up on aisle 8 or show you to your cellblock.
I once stood in the corner where the champagne was and asked him, as he was hovering, if there was a bottle under $100 to which he pointed and exclaimed, "the cheap champagne is over there!"
Never in my wildest dream while shopping on the Upper Eastside in NYC felt shame buying a $60 bottle of Veuve Cliqot and those folks were always charming and were even certified sommeliers.
Having said that,, I still bought my $42 Veuve Cliqot because it was $42.
The college aged girls at the checkout made you feel like you just handed them an EBT card ANDDD it had cooties on it! Rarely, have witnessed them behaving mature and there was definite lack of je ne sais quoi.
Totally understand this isn't the Hamptons or at least Huntington Village. However, this is the Northshore NOT Canarsie!
We are not looking for friendliness necessarily just neutrality not, well....
Unfortunately, my husband has informed me upon NYE he will no longer be picking up our orders as his patience has run out by the grade school behavior in the front checkout....even for a pick-up.
I stopped picking up a while ago for the same reason.
Maybe not a problem for locals. Perhaps this would not deter you.
Then, you will enjoy very good pricing and brands.
Our preference before moving to the area...
Just used to a more polished setting when shopping for bourbon and bubbles.
I looked online after my husband proclaimed his Invictus Rebellion and I found I can pay similar prices elsewhere just not all the products under the same roof like here.
Oh well...

Read moreNice, clean, big store. But for me the cons certainly outweigh the pros.
One, they do not have a consistent stock of certain wines. There were many times where they didn't have what I was looking for but then recommended something "comparable", then I would start buying that and eventually they wouldn't have it anymore and never get it back in.
Rarely would I get asked by an employee if I needed help, after walking around for ten, fifteen minutes.
The girls at the register I have encountered, were not the brightest, and/or friendliest, and have struggled to give me correct change on numerous occasions.
Weird location and parking lot, that is an inconvenience and pain, getting in and out of.
Also, they do not stay open late at all, and close a couple hours earlier than all other stores.
I dunno, call me old school, but I like my "neighborhood" liquor store, where they are friendly, always have what I want, and if they don't they get it, and are knowledgeable......even if it means paying a couple bucks more for something. Also a spot where I can...
