What can I say about Claude's restaurant in Southampton Inn? Wow! What a great experience and service!
Three of my girlfriends and I went there last Thursday and it was the perfect choice. For appetizers we shared a local and creamy sweet corn soup chilled with blue crab meat topping, the halibut with beans, asparagus and saffron couscous, the dry aged strip steak salad with tomatoes and balsamic vinagrette dressing and a new salad on the menu: the local peach and yellow and red watermelon (shaped little balls) with baby arugula. Everything was awesome.
Our entrees were beyond great. We tried the Murray chicken with seasonal vegetables, the lobster mango salad and my very favorite the maine divers scallops with sweet corn lima in a bed of beans succotash.
After we finished our delicious lunch, the chef James Carpenter went to the table and talk ask us about our dining experience. This place is so welcoming, definitely a "most go to" in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe hosted a āāCelebration of Lifeā luncheon for my mother who passed away in April. Because of Covid we were not able to honor her memory properly until now. I contacted many venues prior to booking with Claudes, navigating Covid restrictions and trying to ensure the safety of guests, and Meaghan and her team at The Southampton Inn made planning this at their venue an absolute breeze. They didnāt skip a beat and on the day of the event, Tim and his staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was just as we wanted it. It was all Covid protocol safe, All guests were able to safely enjoy the luncheon, share fun memories of my mother and finally pay tribute to her in a special way. The food was excellent and staff always accommodating. I am thankful to Meaghan and Tim and the staff at The Southampton Inn for truly making this the special farewell it needed to be.
.I highly recommend considering them for an event, or Even stopping...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe gave Claudeās three chances during our stay in Southampton, hoping things would improveābut the portion sizes just got smaller each time. I paid over $20 for a two-egg omelet with only two filling options, and it came with a tiny handful of home fries that wouldnāt satisfy a child, let alone an adult. My mother-in-law was shocked to receive just one piece of toast with her breakfastāsomething sheās never experienced in her life. After each meal, the only thing we could talk about was how skimpy the portions were. It's a real letdown, especially since the previous chef used to serve generous plates. Sadly, that no longer seems to be the case. Given the high prices, we left very...
