My family and I are visiting from PA. We drove a few hours to a nearby town and decided to go to Walmart for some groceries and then head to this pizza shop to grab some quick food to take back to our campground. I had searched for nearby food and it said they were open until 7. We arrived at 6:40, I know a little on the late side but I had two hungry kids who had been stuck in a car for several hours. They looked closed on the outside so I got out myself and walked in and saw people behind the counter and people sitting an eating so I went back and got my family and we all headed back inside. As soon as we all walked in together, they said they were closed. I said that it was 6:40 and that online it says they close at 7 and I have two hungry kids and the man again said they were closed and walked away while the other staff just stared at us. What an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. After I got the kids buckled into car seats again, someone else had pulled up and they appeared to be turned...
Read moreThe pizza was okay but I've had better. I made the mistake of thinking I was in N.Y. and the pizza was going to be great no matter where I was.....Not the case. The sauce tasted like they opened the can of raw tomatoes and poured it on without cooking it. We had pepperoni, mush and olives on it. Pizza was crisp on the bottom but the top needed to be cooked little more. It was done just enough where the top of the pizza wasn't left too soft which in turn left the raw mushrooms they used slightly undercooked The crust could've been a little crispier was a tad too soft.
The subs we ordered were great. Tuna melt, cold tuna grinder and three shaved steak grinders. The steak grinders had sauteed mush, onions and peppers the meat was sauteed and flavored perfectly and tasted great. Tuna melt and cold tuna were excellent, the tuna was made nicely not too much mayo and not too dry. Only thing I didn't like was that they used yellow american cheese...
Read moreWe happened upon this nondescript pizza joint while driving back to NYC from our Catskills summer home. Our Sunday return-to-Brooklyn meal usually consists of whichever fast food venue has the shortest drive through line, so expectations are typically low for this routine. Though this time - allured by the hazy, red glow of the “PIZZA” and “SUBS” neon signs hanging in the window - I haphazardly whipped into Giovanni’s parking lot instead. We ordered a Godfather sub and a meatball parm sub (to-go). We intended to nosh on the contents during 2+ hour ride home, but after taking our first incredible bites of these sandwiches in the parking lot … there was no stopping us. THANK GOD we discovered Giovanni’s! If they made subs this good in my neighborhood I would be an enormous individual. I’ll solicit this hidden gem with each pass we make...
