McDonald's — Restaurant in Town of Ulster

Does it get any more American than this? Everybody should have a standard vision of a standard visit to McDonald's: subpar service, questionably sourced food, and regret for having given into your fast food desire. But it always keeps us coming back, doesn't it?

My friend and I have a standard order whenever we make our weekly trip: two 10 piece chicken McNugget meals with large fries, a large Coke and Sprite, and spicy buffalo sauce, a spicy McCrispy, and a three pack of cookies. Yes, usually the sandwich or cookies are missing, making me have to pull over, walk into the store, and request that I need the item.

The only great thing about the experience is the atmosphere since I get to use the drive through and listen to my specially curated McDonald's playlist on Spotify. You can't get a better atmosphere anywhere else! I don't even need to speak to order anymore; just use the app, and the only thing I'm saying is "XC19." The staff is always pleasant and has never been rude. Makes you wonder whether the attitudes of others who have complained about the staff might have had something...

If I could give this place 0 I would ! I came in for lunch with my husband and toddler. We ordered her a kids happy meal since my husband and I brought our own snacks from home with us. The kids meal took 20 minutes to be given to us, but that’s not the best part. As we are sitting there waiting for our food to arrive we watched a manager(5’10, Hispanic, slender, 18 to 25) go out into the parking lot smoke a cigarette and go back behind the good prep area and bagging orders. A few minutes later our food was delivered by another manager (5’5, Caucasian, 50-60 years, small hunch in the back) who then proceeded to pick up the restaurant phone and head out sits in the front of the building to smoke a cigarette. Went to the drive thru tonight ordered a 10 piece nugget mea l large and a double quarter ponder with cheese. I get to the first window and pay no problem went to the second window and she asks me to pull into reserved spot 2 so I do that and I was brought out a double quarter pounder and no nuggets the large drink and a fry. I never looked at the fry size till way home. So I stopped the girl in the parking lot who brought me out my food to tell her I’m missing the nuggets. She goes in and brings out the nuggets and a second quarter pounder and seemed confused when I asked why the second one as I only ordered one. So I got a free burger out of the deal.
