Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of Wilton

They have cockroaches in the kitchen and never called an exterminator. Mounds of moldy pasta at the bottom of the cooler unit there for years. I told the GM and he shrugged it off. I have pictures of all of this. This restaurant is disgusting. The cooks don't care about your food at all....it's too busy in the kitchen to care. I wouldn't spend a penny in this place.....I also wouldn't feed anything out of that kitchen to my kid or any kid. Pans aren't wiped down but just wrapped at the end of the night. Dirtiest kitchen I've ever seen. Certain people drink alcohol on the clock there as well. Oh and the managers wont put in your sick time....I asked twice to put it in 2 weeks before I quit....was never done 12 hours. This place is hanging on by a thread the owner only cares about his money not the actual quality of anything. Stay away from SARATOGA APPLEBEES. This place needs to be shut down just like Fridays. Oh and the servers pick fries off the plates with their bare hands fries that were portioned and put there for the customer....they also poke steaks with their bare fingers to see if they are still hot/to temp. I've seen a server swipe her fingers across her runny nose then proceed to pick fries off her tables plate sitting in the window. I get it restaurants are kinda not your average job and nothing is ever perfect...but this place has so many health code violations it needs to be shut down. Worked in kitchens my whole life. Health department needs to go back and actually look under the drawers in the coolers. Also saw a worker dipping the ice cream scoop in the sanitizer bucket.....maybe by accident but still that ice cream could have been for a kid and sanitizer isn't supposed to be ingested. Your food isn't safe in the cooks hands or even after put up in the window there. Hope this was worth the $300 sick time I didn't receive and said to my face it would be checked on! I've been here a handful of times, and haven't had a problem. Food is usually great along with the staff. There is one thing that could be improved though. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Grilled Chicken Cavatappi (with the chicken on the SIDE). When our meals came the chicken was right on top of everything else. My dish had a small hair in it so we both sent the plates back hoping for improvement. Considering I picked the hair out in front of the waiter myself, there wasn't much more they could do for me other than remake it .. 5 mins go by and back out comes our food. No change- exactly the same. The waiter said everyone was looking at him funny when he relayed the message to put the chicken on the side so apparently they just decided to keep it the same. I think they should be more considerate of vegetarian, vegan or allergy issues because next time they might not have someone as lenient as us. I always love most Applebee's but this one was mediocre and the service was less than admirable. We waited almost 20 minutes to get our drink orders in. Before anyone came over and greeted us she kept saying hold on and just looking the other way. When we were finally able to get our food after a considerable amount of time the french fries were so salty they were uneatable and there was probably 10 fries on the whole plate (not nearly enough to be considered a side). They did bring us out a fresh order which were better than the first, we also had to wait a long time just to pay our bill which is very inconvenient when your trying to be in and out in a hurry. Instead of making a scene at the restaurant we decided to call customer service after we left to hopefully get some guidance on this terrible experience.
