Customer service personnel is always friendly and helpful. Managers willingly offer rainchecks when certain sale items are out of stock. The store is usually clean and organized, but they do run out of items quite often. I'm not sure if it's due to the smaller than usual BJ's or because this is the closest store servicing lots of nearby towns, which means inventory goes fast. The only negative thing I have encountered at this place is that some of the vendors, who offer small food bites at table stations throughout the store, can be rude and mean. I'm not sure of their connection to the store, as they might work for the companies trying to push their products, but they can definitely exert a bit of friendliness and professionalism; especially if they are working on selling a specific product. During my last visit I encountered a young man who was cutting strawberry shortcake bites. When I approached the table to enquire about the product he was advertising, he just simply pointed towards the bakery' s refrigerator where the cake was. I attempted to ask him questions about the cake, but he made a face as if he was annoyed and once again just pointed to the refrigerator and this time told me to go read the label on it 😲. I'm not sure if it's my bad luck, but this was not the only time I encountered rude behavior from these people. During a previous visit, I had a similar experience with a lady offering an item from the frozen department. She was upset because I asked if the item had pork in it, as I don't eat it. She responded with an attitude that yes the item contained pork..... Nevertheless, my overall experience in this store is usually a satisfying one due to the friendly customer service. Usually fast checkout times, and courteous managers. On a different note, pretty soon, this BJ's will also sell fuel, as a section of the parking lot is cutrently under construction for a brand new...
Read moreLike any other day, I thought I would be heading to BJ's to get what I need. Beginning with my bottle returns, the machines are sometimes full or broken. Where in that case I could tell a worker to contact someone.
However since I had few bottles that could've easily been counted I made it easier for myself and for the worker who I would meet at customer service to do my bottle returns and get cash back which wouldn't be the first time I've done this before.
Today was a different compared other days at BJ's.
When I went to customer service, there was a female worker with side pony tail who told me she would call someone to empty the bottle machines. I respectfully told her that I had already counted the bottles, letting her know I've done this before and had gotten cash back.
After the back and forth, she finally would agree to give me cash back. As I spoke my language while not directly at her. She immediately became disrespectful as she said "I can't do this, she is speaking another language," as she slammed my BJ's member card on the desk and went into a office to speak with someone.
As a PERSON of COLOR coming from an immigrant family, this is the most disrespectful attitude I have ever received and proves that this worker does not represent BJ's motto nor does she "generate a positive impact" at all. By her refusing my needs as a customer, leaving, and openly indicating my language is not something she wants to hear--- reveals the racism I experience at BJ's.
MY MESSAGE to BJ's is to not have workers be disrespectful for those like me who speak another language in order to generate a positive impact.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Read moreThanks to Shannon Beneway, HR manager at this store, my parents and I had a horrible experience last night.
After a long drive, we got to BJ’s (at around 9:20pm) to get gas but the gas station was already closed. We approached some employees at the door of the store to ask why since the hours on its Google page said it closed at 10pm. One of the employees said the hours had not been fixed due to Covid but that we could go in to talk to a manager. When we went inside, we tried to speak with Shannon about it but she treated us in a very rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful manner. She didn’t let us talk and kept raising her voice, saying that the store was closed and that we couldn’t be there. She got really close to our faces and basically pushed us out the door!! She was intimidating and made us feel very uncomfortable...like we were criminals or something!! So confrontational!! (Did we forget about Covid's 6-feet rule all of a sudden?!! What about respect for others?!!) Shannon, a simple, "please come back tomorrow and we will address your concerns" would have been enough.
BJ's, these are specially sensitive times and this kind of treatment to your "members" should not be tolerated. This experience gave the store a really bad image and it doesn't make us want to go back. I don't think a person like Shannon should be managing/representing your HR department. Please do something about it. #WhenYouWishYouWouldHaveRecordedIt #BJsShouldHaveTheRecordingThough 🤔...
