I don't like to write negative reviews. But the Tracy Applebee's is like the Titanic. I remember a time when they had doting servers who had a working knowledge of the menu, manager's would stop by table-side to ask for comments, etc., etc. That is when she was newer and gleaming.
Now on July 8, 2018 at the 12:00pm opening, it has become a frightful mess. We were led to our table by the hostess, and my first observation was that the tables were wiped down by someone visually impaired because there were wiped-in dried piles of food debris spread across the table. So I asked the hostess to have someone clean the table. She acted astonished and repeated: "you want someone to clean the table?" So I responded, "yes, I don't normally like sitting down at a table with this much food on it without having paid for it." So someone else came and cleaned the table. Other tables nearby were similarly stained or else we would have asked to move. AND REMEMBER, this is at opening time. Then my sister-in-law opened her napkin with the silverware inside and apparently the dishwasher missed the knife which was encrusted in some unidentifiable food product. My brother's steak knife also came to the table with baked-on whatever.
The meals were all edible, none noteworthy. The staff seemed to already have retreated to the lifeboats, because getting any assistance from anyone was impossible. Our waiter had four tables to wait on, and one table had ten guests, so he had a good excuse for not being attentive. The hostesses were too busy talking about nail polish or something to even occasionally glance out at customers, and the managers were non-existent, until I asked for one at the end of this disgraceful event. She was pleasant and offered me some gift certificates which I took and gave to my grandson, who at age 18 probably doesn't care about service or cleanliness, just a heaping portion of food. I just cannot go back there again.
If I were the managers of this Applebee's, I would fire one employee a week until the remaining crew got the message or the store was closed. Either option would be far better than forever spoiling the brand name.
I feel that the public should have a right to know that this ship is sinking fast. I would urge the County Health Inspectors to pay them an...
Read moreOn Sunday April 6th 9:20 pm, My wife and I went to go get some drinks here. We weren’t too interested in getting anything to eat that night but just some nice alcoholic drinks. The greeter was very nice and attentive and cleaned our booth for us. Everything was going fine until our server came along. Right off the bat he was very quiet, I sometimes couldn’t even get a word that came out that muted mouth of his. He was talking like he just popped out of the grave. Anyways we ordered some drinks along with some water on the side. My wife ordered the new "The Rock" drink and I ordered a Blue Hawaiian. The drinks finally arrived and he didn’t come back with our waters. I assumed that he was going to go back to give us our waters but instead he went to go hide in the kitchen like a gopher in a hole. I also didn’t like how he awkwardly was staring at me whenever I asked him a question. I suppose he didn’t have enough brain cells to comprehend what I asked because he looked like he took way too many drugs. He has braided hair and is tall. A solid 15 mins went by and still didn’t get our waters. During that time though, a couple sat behind us and ordered a lot of food. Minutes went by and our zombie finally stopped by to inform them that they were out of silverware. How in gods beautiful world do you run out of silverware??? I’m assuming the person in the kitchen did not feel like washing any silverware to offer. The couple clearly felt offended and walked out without paying for the meal. This Applebees experience was very trash. I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon because if I go back there and see that zombie brainlessly walking around im afraid that I will turn into a zombie as well. Do better next time and talk a little louder will ya? And next time pay attention to those training videos because you missed a few. Either that or ur...
Read moreSo my friend and I had gotten off from work and wanted Applebee's, we both work in Livermore and live in Modesto and and Stockton. So this was the best location for us in the middle to meet. We looked online to see what was "open" around 10:30ish. We walked in exactly at 11pm. We waited for a couple minutes. (There was a family eating at a table top in the bar and another person eating at the bar) The staff was all gathered at the end of the bar telling and glancing at us, when finally the hostess or waitress finally came over to tell us last call was already done. I told her that's fine since we weren't going to get drinks(alcohol) and she then repeated it again. I then told her that doesn't apply to food and we were there to eat not have alcohol. She then said we were closed. I further told her your hours posted outside and online state you close at 12am (midnight) she then further says welp there's noting she can do since they are closed. I then told her then the hours of operation needs to be changed not only outside on the door but online. This went on for 15 minutes. We then ended up going to Applebee's in Modesto which we got there at 11:45 and was seated and the service was by far superior. After experiencing both locations in less then an hour. I can honestly say and feel like this location staff is lazy and really doesn't care about business needless to say and how it affects the store location wether it stays open or not. I will not be returning unless I can get an honest confrontation that it will not happen again. I'm always in Tracy so this makes me really feel every which way especially having experience in the industry myself for...
