I went there today for carry out. I used to go regularly before Covid, but found another middle eastern restaurant a bit closer. I have been here a few times a year since Covid for a salad. I noticed not as many people when it used to be packed at lunch. Reading the reviews I noticed there was a staffing issue but my issue today is pricing.
Everyone had to go up post pandemic a bit. But this restaurant far and away had the highest increase I have seen. I have an old menu and checked. They raised their prices $9-$10 per meal!!! So $25 for an entree is extremely high (used to be $14-$16 depending on meal).
This may account for why there are only a couple of tables whenever I go in now. I always wondered why. I am hoping they at some point decrease to a more competitive level of maybe $20 max like all the others who increased. But I will say the other place closer to my office only raised there meals $2 and for this I will keep going there. This competitor restaurant is still only $16 for an entree. Check around for yourself.
Guys sorry but this is really ridiculous pricing. Even the sandwiches doubled in pricing. Although this isn't as noticeable because it is lower priced item.
Hope this...
Read moreA friend of mine went to place an order at 8:45p when they close at 9p. When she came in, the manager was sitting at the counter with another employee and in a very rude tone said they're closed. She told him the sign in the window was still lit up that said "Open" and their website said they're open until 9p. He said, "you clearly don't understand how restaurants work." ...And with that, they turned the stores lights off. ALL of the lights. Leaving her standing in the dark with two strange and angry men. They were rude, aggressive and made this a very uncomfortable situation for a 24 year old, urgent care worker coming off of a 12 hour shift at a hospital, just looking to get dinner...at a restaurant...within business hours...Surely, there's a better way to turn away the business of a paying customer but because of their behavior I won't be supporting this restaurant and I won't encourage anyone I know to support them either when we have so many other welcoming, friendly and truly great restaurants in this area. Besides, they apparently don't need any more...
Read moreThis is a restaurant I frequented in the past. While in town recently I went there for a meal I was looking forward to. Ordered baba ganouge. When prepared properly it has a distinct smoky taste, in finely blended and is a dense texture like a paste. This was like soup with large chunks of eggplant and no smoke to it at all. 😣 Next was an order of grape leaves (the establishment’s namesake). They were dry and discolored on the outside and a steaming hot mouthful of mush on the inside. Clearly, had been laying around and were put through a microwave. I sent them back. Last was the fried kibbee appetizer. These gave off the odor of stale cooking oil and inside was tasteless mush, not even enough to fill the football shaped kibbee. No pinenuts, no meat texture and no flavor except oil. When add this all up it tells me the restaurant is trying to cut costs while charging a premium for their food. The average American may not know how these dishes are supposed to be made and therefore is unable to judge. When you do know this is completely...
