Ok, so where do I start, I never even knew about Central Park Deli until it popped up while I was on tik tok. I saw this young chef putting together this amazing version of a hot corned beef & pastrami sandwich called the “CPD” needless to say I was sold instantly. I work in Livonia, but I live in Shelby Twp, that didn’t matter because I was determined to try that sandwich. I chose the Troy location on my drive home and believe me when I tell you, this place did not disappoint. The Deli is immaculately clean and the service was amazing. At the front of the house you have Kristiana. She is an absolute Rockstar! So from my phone call prior to me getting there, she was informative, very patient with me as I asked many questions & made me feel very good about coming in to try their food. When I arrived, she was absolutely amazing, very polite, professional & took care of all my needs. Then you have Chef Aleksander running the back of the house who not only made me my food, but made a point of coming out to the front to greet me and welcome me as I was a first time customer. Let me tell you that the food did not disappoint! My sandwich was stellar! My sons food was amazing, everything was perfect. This is not just an opinion of a walk in customer, what they did not know is that, I worked under a master chef whose standards were off the chart for 3 years, I was his head pastry chef & only left the industry due to Covid, so I know food. This place is the real deal. If you want a top shelf deli, Central Park Deli is the place to go, you will have an amazing experience that you...
Read moreOrder by kiosk (there are three). Not a fan. Or order at the counter. Wish I'd realized that was an option. Ah, well. Huge amount of DoorDash/GrubHub orders, just an assembly line of to-go orders. Someone needs to take a minute away from assembly and clean off the tables. Several had leftover food debris on them, the one I sat at was clean-looking but sticky. The trash can is stuffed full, too. The sheer quantity of takeout orders coming in just before noon meant the wait for my order to be completed was much longer than you might expect based on the number of people waiting (two). The amount of ambient noise is a bit high and all sounds are amplified & echoed due to no sound absorbing materials. Radio station soft rock/pop music was playing at a decent volume, louder than all the background noise but not overly loud for the 30 minutes you'll likely be inside. Nice decor, lots of natural light from the east-facing windows. Lots of room for wheelchairs & walkers/crutches, smooth floor, too . Ordered a Greek wrap with a side of coleslaw & some chips. The nutritional info on the chip bag made me realize there wasn't any on the order screen. Would be a nice addition. The wrap was tasty but a bit dry, needed more sauce, which you can add but I didn't know I needed. The slaw was a good quantity appropriately sauced...
Read moreI love me a good deli sandwich and pass this place regularly, but hadn’t been in until today. It was very clean and welcoming, and the display case was full of delicious looking sides and desserts. The cashier wasn’t rude, but she was less than friendly, which normally I would overlook as it’s entirely possible she was just having a bad day. I ordered the clam chowder and a side of sweet potato fries and I didn’t finish either. I realize the clam chowder is home made and to each their own, but the base of this one was so thick, it was more like a goup than a soup, but did have a fair amount of clams in it. The fries were burnt to a crisp however. I tried to find one that wasn’t as burnt, but it still tasted charred, which I am not a fan of :( I have worked in the quick casual cafe sector over 20 years, and I tip well and consider myself pretty understanding. I was sitting at the table right in front of the register waiting patiently for my order. It would have been nice if someone had taken the time to ask me if the fries were too dark and if I still wanted them, or something else,...
