I recently visited a Korean chicken wing place and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. As someone who appreciates flavorful and well-prepared chicken wings, I was genuinely disappointed by the quality of the food and the overall value for money.
First and foremost, the chicken wings themselves were a major letdown. Instead of finding succulent and juicy meat, I was greeted with an excessive amount of breading. It seemed like the wings had been heavily coated, resulting in a disproportionate ratio of breading to actual chicken. This unappetizing imbalance made each bite feel more like chewing on fried dough than savoring a delicious chicken wing.
Moreover, the flavors of the wings were far from what I had expected. I had hoped for a tantalizing explosion of Korean-inspired seasonings, but instead, the wings turned out to be remarkably bland. The lack of flavor made the whole experience rather lackluster, as if the wings had been prepared with little attention to taste and seasoning.
Moving on to the Cheeseling fries, they were equally disappointing. Instead of the expected crispy and crunchy texture that one craves from fries, these were dry and lackluster. It was as if they had been sitting out for far too long, resulting in a loss of their natural appeal. The fries lacked the satisfying crunch and were an overall disappointment.
To make matters worse, the pricing at this establishment was unjustifiably high considering the poor quality of the food. It was disheartening to pay a premium for chicken wings that were mostly breading, accompanied by lackluster flavors and subpar fries. The overall experience left me feeling like I had wasted my hard-earned money on a meal that did not live up to its promises.
I truly hope that this review provides constructive feedback to the management of this Korean chicken wing place. It's essential for them to address the issues with their menu and improve the quality of their food. Until these concerns are resolved, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable chicken wing experience.

Read moreI've been trying to find new spots to try just about every weekend, and this past weekend, my companion and I found ourselves at bb.q Chicken in Troy. I read reviews, watched videos, and saw so many people raving about this place that I had to go try it out for myself! So, first thing I noticed was that the place was not crowded at all and from what I have heard, it usually is and there is quite a wait to get a table, so we were happy that it was pretty empty. Only 4 other tables were occupied at 1 in the afternoon on a Sunday. It isn't a big place, but not small by any means either. It's...cozy. I actually like the setup. It's not intimidating, and I mean for what you are there to eat, who wants to sit in a stuffy, uptight restaurant.
They specialize in Korean fried chicken. If you have never had it, this should definitely be the first place you give it a try. You can order boneless, bone-in, or large chicken pieces. We ordered 8 boneless in their Honey Garlic flavor, 8 boneless in their Galbi flavor, which is like a smokey sweet, and 8 traditional wings of their original crispy. The chicken is made to order, so it came to our table hot and juicy! They give you gloves to wear to avoid getting your hands messy, which is cool, along with hand sanitizer and disposable cutlery. They also sell other Korean street food style items like dumplings and fries (we ordered their famous cheeseling fries. Fries dusted with a cheese powder mixture and drizzled with their house sauce), Ddeok-Bokki (heard their rose version is really good. Trying that next time), and Yaki Udon (We got this as well. It was packed with veggies, and the sauce was amazing) By the end of the meal, we had plenty of food to take home, and I was so happy the chicken held its crunch even after a quick zap in the microwave the next day for lunch! In all, we had a really great experience at this restaurant, and it is well worth the hype. I will definitely be returning to try their MANY other flavors of chicken and other items they have on the menu. If you're in Troy looking for a low-key spot to eat some really good food....
Read moreOn Saturday, I had the privilege of dining at BBQ Chicken, an establishment situated in Troy, Michigan. Upon our arrival, we were cordially received by the restaurant's staff, who demonstrated a high level of affability and attentiveness throughout the duration of our visit. Given our unfamiliarity with the menu, my companion and I sought guidance from Jeremy Kim, one of the servers, who judiciously recommended the Honey Garlic and Soy Garlic selections. Notably, he emphasized the excellence of the Soy Garlic option, further suggesting the Rose Tteokbokki as an appetizer. Mr. Kim also conveyed that BBQ Chicken holds a legacy as a Korean chain, with his own family being pioneers in its introduction to Michigan. This historical insight contributed to a more personalized encounter, engendering an understanding of the restaurant's commitment to fostering a warm and convivial ambiance through the combined efforts of its personnel and proprietors. While the staff's amiability was certainly noteworthy, the paramount aspect of our experience remained rooted in the quality of the culinary offerings. Upon the presentation of the Rose Tteokbokki and the two additional entrées, a delectable aroma immediately greeted our senses, foreshadowing the gustatory pleasure that awaited. The ensuing gustation was nothing short of gratifying, evoking fond recollections of my sojourn in Korea. Central to this culinary journey was the authentic Korean Fried Chicken, which served as the unequivocal highlight of the occasion. As our dining experience drew to a close, my companion and I departed with a sense of contentment, unequivocally endorsing BBQ Chicken to prospective patrons. In summation, our encounter warranted an unequivocal rating of 10/10, a testament to the overall excellence of the...
