First the good- our server Agi was amazing. She was thoughtful, helpful, attentive, entertaining, informative, and a pure delight. She more than made up for the disappointing service at the host stand. More on that in a moment.

Agi's recommendations on the food were spot on for absolutely everything. The mains were fabulous, the wine stellar, and the deserts delectable. Sadly the side salad (not a recommendation, just something my friend added) was definitely not worth the price, and I would encourage you to spend that money on salad fixings for a week if you feel the need for greens. The price points for the mains were on par for the quality and portions and the deserts on the higher side but worth it.

Now the negatives. The ambience was alright. It is very crowded and noisy in there. There's a lot of tourism apparently and the entrance definitely caters to that. There is tchotchke on stands all over and it creates a lot of visual noise and the placement of the stands created congestion throughout, with a lot of people to dodge before getting to the host stand.

The host stand itself was quite chaotic. There are just too many people and no consistency of message. Some of the employees had a ridiculous pretentious air about things for a place that is far from fine dining. One hostess was very sweet when I requested a booth which is easier for my arthritic hip when I will be sitting a long time. The others acted like we would be lucky to get any table despite half of the two-tops being empty. Also they failed to put my friend's birtbday on the little cards they have (which I think are silly and have never seen before) that denote party size, table number, and have a space for "special occasion." But I told Agi when she came over and she remembered when we were ordering deserts and surprised my friend with truffles.

Overall, because of the amazing service from Agi, we had a wonderful time. I would encourage management to take a step back and rethink a couple of things but they seem to be a popular tourist spot so that is who they cater to.

Oh, also, they have a wine club that they promote, and having worked many years in service, I told Agi, when she told us about it, to give me her code so she would get credit if I decided to sign up later. It was late and we had drank a bit and I didn't want to read all of the fine print which I always do before committing to anything.

I was very clear half of the reason I was even considering it was her service. There are plenty of amazing wineries that offer club style shipping and I already order from some. She told her manager that we were going to likely do it later and her manager told her she would only get the credit if we signed up then and there. That is absurd. If an employee does a good job of selling your product, they should get their commission whether it is purchased then or later. They are the ones selling it. So, I will definitely not sign up now, unless I happen to dine there again and can get Agi as the server. Unlikely as I live in California and am only in town for a visit, but possible. The wine is good and I would buy it again. But again, plenty of good...

I had came here last week with my daughter. We came at about 2:45 PM. It was I would say almost empty even though the parking lot look full. I’m not sure where the people were sitting. We came inside so we had a reservation that I had made on my wine club app a few hours ahead of time. I said I still wanted to sit outside and she said OK. It was an older lady. She was cleaning the menus when I got there. We went outside. It was a great temperature. It wasn’t hot. The fans were on. I had an awesome waiter. His name was Jacob. The vibe was just amazing. I was so relaxed there with just my daughter and myself sitting on the porch versus coming at dinner time being completely stressed and overwhelmed with the noise. He recommended dishes for me and help me maneuver the wine club app because I’m a new member Recommended some food for us. I sat there and just relaxed with a Sangria pitcher bruschetta, and one of the hamburgers I can’t remember the name which was all amazing. The food had so much flavor. The atmosphere outside was nice because nobody was there. I’m definitely coming again. No doubt there’s nothing on this menu that I have any doubt that’s going to be bad or not flavorful.

Edit: ona visit on September 25th made a reservation for 530 was immediately sat where I asked to be sat was a plus. My waiter came out pretty quickly and I ordered the brussel sprout appetizer it was godly like always. Ordered a Caesar salad and got my daughter the chicken parm children’s meal. Her food tasted like nothing she wouldn’t even eat it. I ordered the Gewurztraminer wine to go with the chicken piccata that I wanted to come with my meal but it came WAY before and ended up getting warm me waiting on my food. Come to find out the waiter was honest and said he completely forgot my order …:: and just put it in I had to tell him what I ordered like completely forgot… wasn’t happy because I came there hungry. The food came out yet another 20 minutes later to be hard checked on the outside and light pink in the middle no thanks no flavor. Complete shocked because everything I’ve gotten here has been amazing. Talked to the manager and she comped me. Because I ate just about nothing besides the Cesar salad and the Brussels sprouts . I will try this restaurant again but I will NOT be sitting outside because you don’t seem to get service there like you do inside which is very CLEAR I’m not happy. Definitely hope my mind changes because I signed up for the wine club. Like I said will try again and request my favorite waiter to assure I get...

I traveled to Detroit to attend a birthday dinner for my cousin. Unfortunately on the morning of the dinner, she experienced a medical emergency and was admitted to the hospital.

The first manager I spoke with, Teresa, said she notified the kitchen so the food would not be prepared. I called again to ask about cancellation penalties. This time I spoke with a “manager” named Andrea, whose behavior was deeply upsetting. She was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the call.

She refused to discuss anything regarding the reservation regardless of being told about the medical emergency /hospitalization. She forced us to disturb my cousin from treatment to discuss this matter although she was speaking with her mother and myself, who were at the hospital with her. Not only did she fail to offer any compassion or concern upon learning of the hospitalization, but she also raised her voice in frustration when we asked about any emergency circumstances in their policy regarding cancellations. Andrea also stated that we should still attend the dinner because the birthday girl not being able to attend was "just one person"! I was flabbergasted at this request as the dinner occasion was the birthday celebration for the person hospitalized. This request was preposterous and I couldn't believe a manager representing Cooper's Hawk was this enept.

To make matters worse, Andrea informed us that despite our timely call, well in advance of the scheduled dinner—the food had already been prepped (contradictory to what the previous manager started) and we would still be charged the full amount of $700.

I find this decision both unreasonable and insensitive given the clearly documented medical emergency that prevented her from attending her own celebration. I was also baffled regarding the food perpetration comment as the previous manager told us the food hadn't been prepared yet.

I understand that policies must be in place to manage cancellations, I believe there should also be room for discretion and empathy in extraordinary situations like this. The complete lack of understanding and the poor customer service we experienced from Andrea is not what I would expect from a brand known for its hospitality...
