Shake Shack Somerset — Restaurant in Troy

This is my second review regarding this establishment. My initial review was in Dec right before Christmas. I was not satisfied with the quality of food and as always may it be good or bad I like to leave reviews.

I did get a response from the restaurant which I truly was not expecting but thankful someone cared enough to respond. The second thing is corporate followed up with an email and a $35 credit for me to return to the restaurant in hopes my experience would be better.

I was there shopping per usual and decided to use the credit given. Instead of getting in line to order I had to order through the app in order to use the credit so I sat in the lobby and did just that. I received a notification stating my order was ready so I went up to the pickup area asked for my food and was asked to give them a moment. Well 10 mins went by and the young lady finally pulls my food from under the lamp. My fries were hard and the liquid cheese was stiff. I guess my biggest question is “why did I receive a notification that my food was ready but had to wait 10 mins before receiving my food?” So, I give up. I think it’s just not meant for me to eat ate that particular establishment.

At Somerset, and my 3 out of 5 is generous. Way too expensive for the minimal "meal" plus service received. When I go up to order, the menu prices are miniaturized. Mind you, my eyeglass Rx isn't even a year old. I could barely make out the text, so I ordered shake from poster ad and told children to order for themselves. We were all a bit famished. They give you a wireless buzzer as you wait. After less than nine minutes, the young lady shouted my name for pick up but buzzer never actuated. Two burgers & three shakes, I almost fantasized that maybe order was incomplete; they'd perhaps call me back up for remainder of items. Nope.

I won't be buying Shake Shack in the future. For $35 I should be leaving with something substantial. Enough food, a unique experience, charitable donation, recycling of my waste containers. Give me something to work with. It was kids' idea to go there. Children have no concept of money. I hadn't seen them in several days and we were already hungry. I'd forgotten how ridiculously high-priced the joint was. I'm ashamed, by the way, for teasing Chick-fil-A patrons who stand in long lines at the mall. They get more value for their dollar, however. For $35 I could've fed my family and four other persons...
