Read moreI have been driving past this place since I moved to Troy and my boyfriend has been driving past since he was a child. We both have never tried it until this past weekend for breakfast. The interior is very outdated, but I adore it. It’s very homey and reminds me of family restaurants from my childhood in the early 90s.
The service is great. The staff is very much the “treat you like family” type.
The food is great and you can tell that everything is homemade with lots of TLC. Not at all spectacular, but it’s very good for a homestyle family restaurant with very reasonable prices. We had breakfast, which was good. Then, tonight we went for dinner. I had the chopped sirloin, my son had the pierogis, and my boyfriend had the chicken parmesan. Yes, we know this is suppose to be a Polish restaurant, but we are very basic and don’t venture too far from what we know. Besides my son, who is Polish so naturally he loves his pierogis.
All in all, we all really like this place. It’s going to be a great addition to our go to...

I’ll start with the good first though. Their selection of soups was great, I absolutely loved the dill soup. They provided sliced sandwich bread and crackers on the side. The Reuben was fantastic and I think that it was the best thing we ordered today. The pricing was very reasonable.
On the other hand, my plate of grilled cod (substituted since the perch was unavailable) was mediocre. The fish was chewy and bland, the veggies were slightly over cooked, and the potatoes, although fresh, were bland as well.
The dining room itself was cozy but could use some renovation work. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed overworked and frazzled and even spilled our beverages a tiny bit.
I hope to return again for the (highly-regarded) breakfast and hopefully with a...
