Marion's Pizza is legendary in the Dayton Ohio area for a reason. It is consistently excellent pizza. It's got a really nice crust with a tasty sauce and the ingredients are always plentiful. I recommend getting the sausage as an ingredient on your pizza. The sausage has a very good peppery taste and it's so plentiful it'll fall off each slice as you try to eat it. That's how much ingredients are on it.
The only thing that bothers me about Marion's is their policy about no refills for soda. It's been that way for ages and it won't change. So keep that in mind when you go there.
The guy that was dispensing my water today was coughing as he was doing tjis. Yes he coughed into his biceps but he still did it before he picked up the cup, and as he was dispensing the water into the cup, which was disgusting. If somebody's actively coughing like that they should be put at some other task not dispensing food or drinks.
The atmosphere at the Troy, Ohio Marions has lots of pretty hand-painted murals of landscapes and seaside vistas in Italy. Those are very pleasant to look at.
My favorite location of Marion's is in North Dayton because it is full of black and white photographs of famous actors from the '60s and 70's decorating the walls from when they were performing in plays back then in Dayton. If you're into old TV and movie nostalgia if a really good idea to go to that North Dixie Drive location of Marion's just to check out those...
Read moreMarion's is my favorite pizza available on planet earth. I grew up eating Marion's and nothing else can measure up. What I love about it is that they go lighter on the cheese. A pizza overloaded with cheese (eg. Chicago style) is way too rich for me and "sits heavy" on my stomach afterwards. But Marion's has the proportions set perfectly for my taste. My favorite pie that they make is the Deluxe. The sausage they use is the best I've ever tasted on a pizza.
This location is off the main drag when exiting the highway, so it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look. The handsome brick facade houses the signature Italian piazza decor, which is the same interior found at all other Marion's. I was very pleased to find that this Marion's had returned to open hours until 11 PM on a Saturday, and was allowing indoor dining. On the other hand, we stopped at 9 PM and it was sad to see a nearly empty dining room. In normal times, it would be nearly full on a weekend evening with kids running around amidst a festive atmosphere.
The staff were polite and efficient. My wife and I split a side salad and shared a small deluxe pizza. We still had enough left over to take home for a snack. At less than $16 (less than $8 apiece), the deal was unbeatable. I also respect the fact that they do not solicit tips, which is...
Read moreWe stopped at this location with a large group today post holidays. The restaurant itself is very large, kept clean, prices are fair and the pizza is good! You walk up tor the counter to place your order. Their 2 pizza sizes are 9 and 11 inches and during lunch they have a small pan size pizza and drink special for a little over five bucks. They also have other items, such as salad, on the menu as well. You are given a number and wait for it to be called over the loud speaker to pick up your pizza at the counter. You place your drink order at another counter, so be prepared to swipe your card twice. You can order drinks by cup and or pitcher and they do have some alcohol options, such as beer, wine, wine coolers, etc..
When you are done eating, there is a small arcade in the back right corner and the kids can play. They looked to have 10 to 12 different games, similar to Check E Cheese. Though we didnt partake in this section, others seemed to enjoy it. I would recommend this...
