Service was a joke during the Troy victorian stroll. Idk what they're like normally but the wait was ridiculous and the restaurant was not packed. The food was pricey for very little. The empanadas were mostly air inside.
The Chicken one had zero flavor and the only flavor was the white sauce they drizzled over the top of it. Which was a surprise because I've never had an empanada with sauces already on it... I would have asked to skip that part if I knew ahead of time but it was the only flavor on the whole thing.
The Guava & Cheese one was under cooked and almost burnt at the same time. The filling never melted or warmed. The cheese inside was shredded cheese still in the shredded form/texture and cold... The outside was crunchy and hard.
That's all I asked for 2 empanadas, my order took almost an hour. And then the guy at the register did not speak Spanish and could not fully understand English and the girl serving the food only spoke Spanish. They basically communicated with hand signals... When the kitchen doors opened I saw 2 other employees on their phones.
From what I saw the cooks were the only ones really getting anything done, coming out to direct the two in front on what to do and then going back to cook the food. No wonder it took so long. They need better staff so they can focus on cooking the food right.
This was an event and they may be better when they're not overwhelmed and properly staffed. But I'll probably never find out.
They did have live music and the girl singing was entertaining. So 2...
Read moreFood is very bland, and barely any flavor. mangonada was literally flavorless, and you barely get the mango flavor as well as tajin and chamoy. Just water down mango, and over ripped flavor. churros only give you the “immediate” churro flavor but it just dissipates after that “immediate” taste, the place was just a whole disappointment. I was born and raised in Mexico, and the flavors just don’t cut it. To me is more focused on satisfying the American public then actually focusing on authentic Mexican flavors. I love to support, but I probably won’t be coming back. I honestly don’t understand where all there 5 star comments come from, it definitely wasn’t 5 star...
Read moreHad to get dinner quickly before an event and decided to give this place a try. I love a good Mexican chorizo torta and knew that’s what I wanted right away. It did not disappoint: light crispy bolillo roll, flavorful crumbled chorizo, tasty fresh shredded Oaxaca cheese, fresh crisp lettuce, chiles and tomatoes—the right amount of mayo (usually also comes with beans but I asked to leave those off just cause that’s my preference). She brought the sandwich and one look told me it would be crave-able and I was right! A little music might be nice as a small tweak to the ambiance (which is bright, colorful and clean). Give this place a try, it’s...
