I have to say, after visiting the Troy branch vs the Albany location, that will likely be my last time I give my business to either of their locations! On several occasions I dealt with rude, impolite, incompetent staff who made me feel like I was doing them a favor by coming in there and when I asked simple questions or simply even "Tried" to strike up a casual conversation with them, I felt like I was annoying them or bothering them and that they didn't really even want to deal with me!! Well, I'm sorry guys, try having a little customer service skills and try to make your customers happy! Because that's what keeps them coming back to your business!! I was sold, cracked and damaged games on several locations and when confronted them about it, the staff made me feel like it was my fault for not having said something to them at the time of purchase! I'm sorry but that's not my job! I shouldn't have to check out merchandise that is kept secured, behind the counter, to quality check it before purchase!! Do you think ANY kind of compensation was given to me for my troubles? Not at all! As far as prices go and in-store credit is considered when trading in games or movies.....Don't waste your time, head to GameStop!! Oh and if you have in store credit and want to get cash instead, that's against their policy! When I mentioned that I wasn't informed of that and that I was used to shopping at GameStop, all the "Owner, who he claimed to be" said, well, that's why they have thousands of locations and that he, himself has to pay his employees bonuses for in-store credit trades!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing!! To all the staff and to the owner/'s of Pastime Legends Video Games, you lost a valuable customer and will be spreading the word to all the gamers in the Capital District, to not give you their business!!...
Read moreEdward Wolfe was very very very rude and dismissive when we were in there on Thursday (August 5th). Bf still purchased a PS1 after asking multiple times if it works properly and the store's policy on returns especially about full cash refunds if product doesn't work (was told 30 days and that's it). Got home tried it out and the controller doesn't work. Went back Friday (August 6th) about 10 mins b4 closing and he was once again very very dismissive telling my bf that the store is closing (which it has not at the point). My bf explained that the controller wasn't working, no attempt was made to help with the situation, just went straight to store credit. Explained we don't want store credit as we don't shop here Edward continued to be rude and dismissive until we asked to speak with the manager and was told she was busy and never at the store. He tried to tell us we can have the system back with the store credit, but being as he was very rude we did not trust that he wouldn't lie and say we stole the system and call the cops on us. We demanded the store credit be reversed b4 we took the system back. Tried to go back Sunday (August 8th) around 1:30pm sign stated they will back at 2:30pm, we got back at 3:30pn still closed, if you're not going to be open on Sundays please change your signs . If you can't work with the public find a job where you don't have to work with the public. No one wants store credit when you sell broken systems. If I can give a negative or no...
Read moreBefore I visited this effulgent citadel of humanity's few redeeming achievements, I was an uninspired, and thoroughly lost, sea urchin. Five minutes after I very, very, gradually wriggled through their door, I'd evolved into a mostly-functional human. Two minutes into conversing with these captivating, erudite oracles of gaming, I gained literacy. They sell awesome games, consoles, and peripherals, too. They've comprehensive, quality inventory at reasonable prices. I departed their retail utopia and used the lessons they taught me in that magical half-hour to found a hospital for orphaned panda lepers. Soon, I will name my first child Pastime Legends Video Games. My second and third progeny will also bear that proud name, suffixed "2" and "3", respectively. (Actually, I might reverse the order just to screw with them long after I'm gone.) If there's a fourth one I'll name it "placeholder" because after three I won't care anymore. (Go to Pastime Legends Video Game and buy things from them. Or just throw cash and complements at...
