Yesterday when I was exiting the farmers market I witnessed a man, who Identified himself as the Director of the farmers market, shove a couple who were trying to enter without face masks. The director then became belligerent with the couple. I’m personally appalled by the fact that the director put his hands on someone else in such a manner. Face mask or no, he had no right to touch the gentleman or the woman he was with. Furthermore I’d like to point out that several of the vendors at the farmers market were not wearing face masks. The waffle vendor had waffle displayed in the open, and was standing over them with no mask on. Several of the produce vendors didn’t have masks on, the two girls selling frozen smoothies didn’t have a mask on, to name a few.
So why is the director of the farmers market putting hands on customers and refusing them access to a public space for not wearing a face mask when the director isn’t enforcing that policy with his own vendors?
The directors actions, tone and language were not conducive to a family environment. I don’t know if I’ll feel safe bringing my family back to the Troy Waterfront Farmer’s...
Read moreAn absolute experience every time, feels like something out of Brooklyn or DC on a weekend. Great vendors, local farms and artists represented, plenty of people watching, extremely dog friendly, walkable, vendors spread throughout the many streets and alleyways downtown, with the park that overlooks the Hudson River just beckoning you to have a little impromptu picnic with all the things you bought. I literally spend the day here meandering through the market and adjacent shops/small businesses. Much better places to spend your money than the big box, bland and boring grocery store chains in the area. I’ve found the best items here from food to flowers to books and art/decor. There’s usually $1/minute chair massage also (hello self care!), readings and other entertainment or exhibits to see. Open year round- moves inside on Third Street during colder months. BY FAR- the top of the farmers markets...
Read moreUpdate: came in early SUMMER! Arrived at 10am Fantastic day. Lots of people and dogs for this great weather. Still a great site with food vendors, flowers, veggies, small brands, jewelry, drinks, coffee, vintage apparel. It was very well staffed, help areas, first aid areas. Parking was a bit of a challenge but there is a free parking lot near the water. It was free right next to the market.

Beautiful farm fresh flowers. A lot of street parking and a few lots nearby. We got there at 9:30am and left around 11am. Plenty of crowds but great market! Highly recommend and...
