Perfect NorCal mountain vibe and nowhere near the (rapidly becoming a) TouristTrapTruckee®. They’ve got tasty and great value for cash sandos along with a modest yet well curated tap selection (including house brews).
Honestly, I hesitate to rate (appropriately) high just because the last thing I’d want is for your typical mountain tourist-set to infest this place but realistically I hope this place gets tons of custom and lasts for as long as I have the ability to escape Sactown this direction.
Best Saison I’ve ever had. I want to give credit where it’s due: saison’s are risky beers that only companies with money to burn and smaller outfits with pure passion attempt. They’re risky because they involve wild yeast, anything can happen. A small brewer going with a saison is someone who wants to flex their skill in a risky way, knowing that most beer drinkers have no effin clue what a Saison is much less the inclination to buy it.
For that, these are artists after my own heart and I’ll always stop here and give...
Read moreThis place seemed okay for a locals stop for beer and maybe since it is off season we did not have a great experience.
First, the initial impression on a Saturday afternoon is a sleepy strip mall, with no other customers. We walked in and the lady behind the bar was stirring a large seemingly self serve bowl of ceviche. During the pandemic times, the last thing you want to see is a self serve bowl of fish that you’re unsure when it was made/last refrigerated. Seemed odd.
Second, the beer was only okay. I had a cider that was decent, but it was a guest tap. Otherwise there was a limited selection. We did not even feel compelled to finish.
Third, the tables outside were all completely filthy as if no one had wiped them down in days.
Overall, if you’re brewery hopping and this place is the only thing around, maybe give it a try. The people seem cool. Otherwise, wouldn’t go out of my...
Read moreFirst off, for parents out there, this brewery has you taken care of. In the back, they have a small room with a mini Pac-man arcade game, a Connect Four, card games, children’s books, and more. So many breweries forget that us hop heads have little ones with us and they get bored easily.
The brewery has quite a bit of seating. They have a nice selection of beer in tap and a lot of to go options. They have a ton of swag to rep your favorite brewery. Dogs are welcome. There’s a pool table for the big kid in you. There are darts. And there’s an acoustic/electric guitar an amp that are just begging for your open mic submission.
They have a nice food menu with Paninis, pretzels and other assorted foods.
The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or friendly. Can’t wait to get back to Truckee and see my new...
