(Edited below original review) I went into the bike shop 8-10-24 to get some high rise handlebars, I found some Deity bars I liked, the only info on the bars was a shop tag that that said "35" referring to the clamp diameter, I asked if the rise on them were 35mm or 50mm, they said they were 50mm rise which is what I was looking for, I bought them and they cut them to size for me, when I got back to Reno I found the handlebars were 80mm rise, I called the shop on 8-11-24 and asked if I could exchange them because I was given the wrong information, they said because they were cut I'm unable to exchange them for what I originally came in for, "50mm rise bars", so now I'm out $ and stuck with handlebars that are too tall because the shop gave me the wrong info.
Revised, I appreciate you reaching out to help me fix the problem, but the store lable in fact did not say the rise height but only the clamp diameter, if it did say the rise height , I wouldn't have bothered the mechanics working on bikes, there are other bars on the racks that only say clamp diameter also, unfortunately I already sold the bars and took my loss on it, I live an hour away from Truckee so it's not as easy for me to get back to the store, but I do appreciate you reaching out to...
Read moreAfter a couple months of striking out finding a model locally, finally pulled the trigger on shipping. Price was same as manufacturer sale MSRP. Called in to check if they actually had it in stock and they did. The guy on the phone was friendly and nice. It took 4 days for the shop to ship it. Longer than I expected after what I was told on the phone, but not a huge deal. Bike was packaged nicely. Shipping cost and delivery time was as expected of Fedex.
My knock is that the bike seems like it was a floor model, which is fine, but man did it look like it's been sitting. The thick layer of dust mixed with the old lubes was just a sticky mess. I took the entire bike apart to clean, degrease, and re-lube everything. The chain alone took me an hour to get to the point of running smooth like a new chain. Luckily I had a gallon of finish line citrus degreaser and park tool cyclone, but still took work to get all the gunk out of the rollers. Kerosene soak probably would've been better. There was also some little nicks and scuffs that I needed to buff out. Basically, thought there'd be some basic maintenance, like a clean chain,...
Read moreSorry to spoil all the five star reviews with a one star, but I’ve received horrible customer service. I purchased expensive Scarpa boots several years ago and the mid-foot buckles never worked properly. As I purchased the boots on my way out of town while moving back to Michigan, I phoned up and was told to bring them by next time you’re in town. I phoned again and was told sorry we can’t ship you buckles you’re gonna have to come by whenever you’re in town. This went on and on. Finally I was in town so I stopped by and they ordered up buckles for me. I’m assuming that since there’s been an ongoing dialogue since day one, these buckles are covered under warranty Not so. They want me to pay for the buckles and pay to have them shipped to my house in Michigan. And then in a conversation with Caleb, he basically accused me of lying and that the buckles only recently failed as “how could you have used them for this many years?“. The way I use them was fidgeting to get the buckles to latch each and every time not very convenient for a pricey pair of boots. Their communications...
