Big Daddy Que — Restaurant in Truro Township

I really wanted to like this place and the food because the commercial is really enjoyable (peach cobbbbblahhhh). Unfortunately, I didn't.

Up front, the young dude at the counter was so very polite and the service was great.

I ordered the three rib combo, for which the price was $17 on the signage and was supposed to be three ribs, two sides, and a drink. The actual price wound up being $22.

I received four ribs that were generously sauced. While the signature sauce was amazing, the ribs were fatty, moderately tough, and did not taste at all like they'd been grilled/smoked - more like they'd been cooked in the oven. And I've never been to a true "rib joint" that didn't give at least one slice of bread with the meal.

For sides, I got the cole slaw and baked beans. I'm not sure how to feel about the cole slaw. It had all the components of what should have been a good slaw, but it was pretty nondescript with no real slaw flavor with a mayo aftertaste. The baked beans were just canned enhanced with some ground beef. In hindsight, I wished I had gotten the fries with sauce.

It's doubtful that I'd visit here again - at least not without checking reviews to see if these disappointments are resolved. The effort was there but it just didn't produce the...

Well, we been waiting for a while to try this place and…… Service was amazing, the girl at the counter was nice. The prices SCARED ME!!! But I’m like if it’s good then it’s worth it. We paid $63 for me and my husband…. For me I didn’t care for the Mac&Cheese was ok, wayyyy to much black pepper. Idk why black pepper is in Mac&Cheese but ok. Now my pork chops were sooo good BUT one of them was fresh and the other chop tastes like it was from the day before and they heated it up. Any cook should know reheat meat has a different taste. The greens was from a can, we all know what Glory greens are and these DEFINITELY wasn’t fresh greens. The rib tips didn’t taste smoked at all! It had the weirdest flavor that definitely wasn’t smoked. And that peach cobbler, it looked like it was thrown in the bowl, no care or nothing! It was soggy, hardly no peaches and it had way too much nutmeg in it. You would think because they advertised the cobbler so heavy they would make them special or something. I was sad to see them just sitting on the front counter. So I’m not sure if I would return, my husband wasn’t impressed either. He didn’t eat his food so that was $63 down the drain. We work hard for our money and I just don’t know if we would give them...

I finally was able to eat at Big Daddy's. I was so excited, I pull up and the open sign wasn't on so I thought it was closed, but someone said that they were open I go in and spoke to the lady at the counter, she said hello. Looking at the menu's for a few minutes, I said wow she's on the phone, how perfessional and welcoming is that for the first time. The beans and rice, very good. Chicken wings were huge and could have cooked longer, Mac and cheese, too much garlic "for me".I know smoked meat is a little pink but when you bite into the chicken it shouldn't be that hard to pull it away from the bone. Just wish it would have been better. The Prices and Portions were very reasonable. And it was Clean. I'm not saying the worker was rude but I do feel as though she could have been more welcoming.
