I had previously posted on here a higher rating, but my recent visit forced me to re-evaluate my opinion. I live approximately 2 hours from this store and when I am in the area, I make a point to stop in and check their current stock in military models, paints, and modeling tools and supplies. When I was looking through the model kits one of the staff asked if I needed any assistance, to which I said no, I was just looking to see what they had, hoping to purchase one. He kept watching me, which made me feel uncomfortable. I did not see anything that interested me, so I went over to where the model paints and tools were to see what they had in stock. I saw a product that I had read about that had good reviews. It was a brand of acrylic paints that came as 6 colors in a closed box. The same young man came over to see if I needed help, and I again said no, that I was wanting to see if anything new was being displayed. He continued standing by me, so I told him that I was somewhat familiar with the product I mentioned earlier, but wasn't sure what type of thinner to use with them for air brushing. The set cost around $32-$35, so I started to open the box, which was not taped or sealed shut to see what what I was paying for. The young man literally grabs it out of my hands and says not to open it, and if I want to see what's inside, ask for help. At this point, I felt disrespected and told him never mind, I'd seen enough and left. On my way home, I called the store and spoke to the young man about how I did not appreciate how he grabbed the item out of my hands to which he said he was sorry, that they open items for customers because of potential theft. I said that maybe putting up signs telling customers not to open items and get help would be a good idea. He said he doesn't make policy, he just does what he's told. I told him I would not be back, that I didn't like the assumption that I was...
Read moreThis is directed at the person responding as the owner. I was reading reviews to get insight on my possible first customer experience. The amount of negative reviews concerning defective products and or poor workmanship not being honored with a refund or even a replacement has caused me to forgo patronizing your establishment. It's flat out bad business to not guarantee your merchandise. What incentive do potential customers have in choosing to buy from you when each purchase comes with a roll of the dice of possibly wasting their hard earned money. As you well know surplus funds for hobby supplies are very much a luxury item. If I am to chance the quality of my purchase it behoves me to shop online to circumvent your markup. The point of shopping brick and mortar stores is the guarantee of getting quality, functional products at premium cost. When you respond to negative reviews you should be offering to remedy your clients problems not just "using it as a training experience". The next time you're working your books and not seeing good numbers for the future think back on this and contemplate all the lost revenue your "training experiences" have cost you. I'll take my business to the Laughing Ogre on north high street Columbus. I do hope this has been a positive learning experience for you....
Read moreIm from out of town and just happened to be in town for a conference. I got to the store 25 minutes before they closed. I went to the rc parts counter to ask for a couple small parts. When I asked for a clutch bell the clerk instantly said nope we don't have any. Ok I had another question about an esc, he said he couldn't do anything without a part number. I said well I'm pretty sure I've got a picture of the part number on my phone, he replied that I better hurry up because they were going thi be closing soon. He was very rude and about as helpful as a shoe full of poo. I knew they closed at 8 o'clock he didn't need to remind me. It was still 15 min till. If they don't want to help a customer after 7:30 then maybe they should close then. Or better yet just don't even open the store, the guy just had a real poor attitude and he really ticked me off, totally unnecessary. I won't go back...
