Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Tucson

Great chicken as always with Church's. Friendly girl at counter & meal served promptly. The biscuits & sides were very good. I give it only 3 stars because the dining room tables were ALL dirty. While we were eating our lunch, there were several times where there were no customers at the counter or drive-thru and yet no one came out to clean the tables or chairs that were all covered with straw papers, crumbs and dirty napkins and cups. Trash everywhere. This Church's is located right across from the VA Hospital but is not in a good section of town. Right next to my right shoulder where we sat, was a bullet hole through the glass that would have hit me had it been fired the day we were there. We wondered how long it was there. The chicken was excellent and the people were excellent, but there were black smears of some kind of substance all over one wall and trash all over the place. In the 30-minute time frame that we were there, no one came out to address any of that, but I could hear employees in the back laughing and carrying on instead of working when there were no customers anywhere. Food was all over the floor. There was even ketchup containers on the floor and dirt. While we sat there, someone came in the door with a big Circle K cup and filled it up at Church's Fountain, but all the employees were too busy laughing and carrying on in the back to notice that the guy came in and stole a huge...

It's OK..... Service is bad. The last time I went I felt persecuted. I told the young man about a deal that the previous employee acknowledged a week earlier than it should've been (great customer service) by the way. Came back a week later attempted to explain to another employee what the discount was and that I was informed it was valid this week, instead I was treated like a criminal. I was asked for my receipt as proof that the deal was administered (again a whole week before this) and told that this deal 3 pieces for $1.99 never existed period. Needless to say I left and gave KFC my business, I will also be emailing corporate. That guy at the made me feel discriminated against because of how I look. I am a mechanic sometimes I have oil me after I work on a car and I am black. I feel as though he thought I was passing through Surprise and trying to get something for nothing. I honestly don't believe this would have happened if I was in a suit and tie and White (sorry not sorry). The truth is the truth...... They are lucky their food is good and that I usually get very great service otherwise...

6/8/2024 Came to Churches at 9:30pm and went through the drive through to order a family meal deal and the first thing is see are the cooks standing outside in the back right by the drive thru menu smoking cigarettes and vapes which made it extremely inconvenient to my family because the smoke/smell was coming in my car. The drive thru person already put the automated messages indicating the store is closed at 9:30. Half of an hour before close. I already knew the store wasn’t closed because there was somebody in front of me at the window waiting for their food. Employee doesn’t introduce herself and says “Just to let you know there is a 25 to 30 minute wait on all chicken.” seeing the cooks outside smoking and the workers trying to close 30 minutes early is completely unacceptable completely obvious they just didn’t want to work or make any chicken. complete slack and laziness!!
