Mama's Famous Pizza & Italian Eats — Restaurant in Tucson

The food is rarely right. And the staff gets obviously annoyed at you when you say anything to them about it. They never offer an apology of any sorts and they really dont seem to give a shit. They dont own up to their mistakes or offer a solution willingly to make it right. You have to explain yourself while they basically roll their eyes at you and then they just stare at you as if to say "ok...and....?!" (All I want is to get my order the way it's supposed to be! Without having to ask repeatedly for it. And feel like im bothering the employees! I just want the overpriced food I paid you people to make for me!) When you burn my pizza and its so hard my child literally can not bite thru it, please offer to remake it and apologize! And when you remake it dont be obnoxious and give us an obviously undercooked pizza as the replacement. (As if we were complaining about the first one unnecessarily and just being difficult customers.... We literally COULD NOT EAT IT ...or we would not have complained!!) If I am coming in to pick up a to go order, make sure its all in the bag! How hard is that? If it includes drinks in the order, YOU should ask me when I get there and pay and pick up the order, what kind of drink I would like? I dont appreciate getting out to my car about to leave and then remembering that what I ordered is supposed to come with a soda. Then having to come back inside and ask for the drink, and show my receipt and convince the employee they didn't give me one already and then be treated like im inconveniencing THEM! Or worse, today they "forgot" to include the garlic knot that comes with each kid meal in my order. So once I discovered this, I had to go back up to the counter, wait in line again then ask them for the knots, since they didn't put them in the bag with my order like they should have. Then it took them 30 minutes to make two garlic knots. The kids were finished eating long before the garlic knots got done. I actually went to check on them and see where they were after about 25 min of waiting for them. They were in the oven burning and were almost overly dark when I asked the employee to remove them from oven. Then he proceeded to take as long as he possibly could to butter them and cheese them. He didn't care one bit that they had messed up and how much they inconvenienced us. And maybe you should post the prices of your food a little better and more accurately. You list the toppings and say they are $2 each. Chicken is at the bottom of the list and like at most other places its a premium topping. Ok fine. But its almost always a dollar or two extra to add chicken elsewhere. Here it is $8 extra to add chicken to a large pizza. The pizza costs $20 to start. Thats a pretty significant upcharge for adding chicken. And that should probably be stated on the menu so patrons can make an informed decision...

I only gave this place three stars because when you walk in it is so outdated it's so dark inside there's no atmosphere it's kind of spooky how dark and dingy it is inside these places. It doesn't really inspire me that the kitchen is any better. I walked up to order and the girl was kind of like impatient with us cuz I hadn't been there in forever so I wasn't sure how to order. So I kind of live was taking my time looking over the menu but she offered no help so I decided to order a pizza and a salad. There were hardly any other customers there so the food came out pretty quick. You do need a code to go into the bathroom so you need to ask somebody but I asked one person and they gave me a code but they weren't sure so they had to ask another person that gave her a different code which was weird. So then I just randomly asked the different employee what the code was and he gave me a different code which happened to be the correct code so that was kind of confusing. We finally got our food and I can't say anything bad about the food the salad was you know just a garden salad nothing fancier special something I could throw together at home. The pizza wasn't bad it was pretty good I know you can order by the slice but we ended up getting a small pizza which kind of came out more expensive than buying one of those gigantic slices so you really have to look over the menu so you get the best deal. as far as cleanliness it look pretty clean but again they don't have a lot of customers so I can't imagine it getting dirty or it being hard to keep clean. Will I go back here probably not I just didn't get a good vibe from it that I liked being there. Maybe take out possibly.it seems like at one point they did do a whole lot of business because they have a large outdoor patio seating area which might be better to be out in the open instead of inside in the dark and dingy dungeon that they have there. They had a fountain that wasn't working...

Went there on Thurs night about 5 pm. There were three tables occupied. I ordered for 6 people. All orders were individual meals, but a LG pizza was also ordered. I also ordered two appetizers. The appetizers came out first... no problem. The individual meals came out about 10 mns later. We were having a good time talking & laughing. We were pretty much done with our meals & still no pizza. After we were done eating, I went to counter to ask about pizza and was told it'd be about 5 more mns. By this time our trays were piled up and we were done. Meanwhile another family came in about 15 mns after us & got their whole pizza served in a timely manner... with the rest of their food. I finally went up to counter to ask again about pizza and was told "two more minutes" When we finally got pizza, my nephew ate one slice & went to get container to take it home as we were all done. I understand pizza takes longer than ziti, Spaghetti and sandwiches, but maybe you could hold all the food together so we could eat as a family...or tell us how long it'll be. At that point, I would've just ordered a couple slices. I've been to mama's three times. Once behind PVHS during covid where I ordered at window on patio. The second time was your location for a family gathering and I didn't deal with ordering. When I ordered, I prepaid the tip, thinking I was paying for a server. Nope, we place the order.. we pick up our order.. we clean our area😂Now I know not to prepay a tip as there was no service provided. On the plus side, the food is pretty damn good!!
