I was told there was an all you can eat sushi joint in town. Well, I aimed to show them the error of their ways. I ambled in, belt already loosened and a look on my face akin to Godzilla's as he overlooks Tokyo right before the destruction begins. My waitress approaches me, unaware of the culinary wrath I was ready to unleash and thus, unafraid. She explained how the menu worked, took my first order and brought me my diet soda (gotta watch my girlish figure). Soon a plate appeared before me, laden with various tasty sundries. I took a moment to appreciate the artful splendor on my dish before I committed the gastric equivalent of a hate crime. Round one: Flawless victory. It was only then, while I waited for my second sampling to show that I became aware of the insidious plan the proprietors had been hatching all along. While they expertly made my choices with seasoned and precise skill, my stomach, now gleefully gnawing at the carnage of my first round, assumed there would be no more and thusly hunger was starting to be sated. With their scheme exposed in the searing light of the truth, I endeavored to emerge the victor and resolved to fight past the pleasant feeling of a fantastic meal sitting in my gut. I attacked the second round with the vigor of a doomed man clutching at the last attempt at life. The spirit was willing, the flesh....was weak. I barely prevailed. Soon, the waitress was asking for my third choices! The glint in her eye and the sneer on her lips showed that she knew I was defeated. My third round was a mere shadow of the formers. A desperate gamble to leave with a shred of pride. As I slowly chewed the last remnants of the third round, driven on only by the sheer deliciousness of the meal, I pondered how I could be laid low so easily. My hubris and my hunger were no match for the culinary might of the chefs at Sake 2 Me. I, for one, am eager to be humbled again and learn at the feet of the masters. 10/10-...
Read moreThe food was good. Solid portions, solid food and a nice atmosphere. Our server was very kind and attentive and answered all of our questions. Only complaint was that the calamari didn’t look like the pictures on the menu nor did it come out how it was described to us. Instead of being the small, crunchy, round calamari that was depicted, it was a thick, almost chicken finger sized fried stick. Other than that, no complaints with the food. However, I personally will not be coming back. We got the all you can eat and honestly it’s a pretty good deal at the end of the day, $32 dollars for all you can eat? We thought we were up for the challenge. We were wrong. The time between rounds was long and obviously this stiffens your hunger over time, on top of this, you get charged for the food you leave on the plate which is a reasonable demand but should be heavily considered as you order. I suggest adding a palate cleanser in between each round, we chose ginger and that did the trick after round two. If not, all of your food will start to taste the same so I do strongly suggest adding some type of buffer in between. At the end of the meal, our party was feeling very full and a little nauseous, this is of no fault to the restaurant, we just overestimated our capability to finish the food. Therefore, I would also suggest sipping on some Miso soup at the end of your meal to help calm any upset stomach’s that might arise at the end of your meal. Now, I won’t be coming back because I honestly can’t bear the thought of looking at another piece of sushi for at least a month and a half, and I worry that the emotional roller coaster that our party went on will inevitably reoccur if we ever decided to come back. To everyone who comes here: enjoy yourself, plan it out, space it out...
Read moreIt was my first time here. I've heard from friends that this place was amazing. Was very excited for the $32 all you can eat. The food came quickly and was ok. The rice was a bit loose and several pieces fell apart. The fish quality was just ok. Not terrible, but not great. The taste was pretty good. Crunchy bits were crunchy, the sauce amount was decent if not on the heavy side. The veggies were crisp and the rice tasted good (just needed to be rolled tighter). What soured the otherwise ok meal was when I had a roll or two left and I asked their policy on to go containers. I hate to see good food wasted if it's going straight into the trash. The server told us that it would be $30 extra to take it home. Ok, well if that's the case, then trash it. Then he came back after a few minutes and told me they would make an exception this one time so it would be $15. I declined the offer and said they could trash it if that was the policy. Then a few minutes after that, he came by and told me it would a $10 extra charge for having food leftover no matter if I take it home or not. Well then, I guess get me a container. I understand that they need to have some policy to prevent over ordering, but there was no verbal conversation about it previously. The policy should be mentioned before the order is placed. Also, the bouncing around extra charges made it seem like they were making it up on the spot. There should be a verbal conversation about the policy and a clear cut up-charge if there are leftovers. Just left a bad taste in my mouth...
