Pull into the parking lot of AMC, I thought because it was packed that it was a Premier theatre. I expected cleanliness, decent food and a comfortable movie experience. Gosh was I wrong!!! The lobby was filthy and not just with popcorn spilled on the ground. We waited almost 20 minutes for hot dogs. The condiments were empty, no lids in our section of the drink station and there were NO napkins.
The snack shelves were pretty empty unless you wanted red vines and beef jerky. The only food options were nachos (the chips were over salted) and the nacho cheese was congealed and no where close to liquid. The popcorn was bland even fresh popped and with butter. The hot dogs were okay but the buns had been steamed for too long and weren’t soft but rather gummy.
The straws were paper which I appreciate but they began to fall apart after 20 minutes.
Let’s get to the seats. Absolutely horrible!!! Old itchy fabric cleaned too many times and it’s rough and not plush at all. The seats are narrow and I didn’t enjoy sharing elbow space with the nice person next to me. The seats don’t recline, the space in front of patrons is not big enough to exit during a movie if you need to. I have serious concerns and the proximity of people surrounding me and my personal ability to exit for any reason has me concerned for anyone with an overactive bladder!!
The AC and circulation was lacking. I’m usually cold during a movie and my spouse even went and inquired and we were told that’s as cold as they could get it.
I’m quite shocked at the movie experience that AMC offers. Even more so watching people line up just to get inside and then experiencing what little they have to offer. People of midtown Tulsa, please do yourself a favour and visit Warren. It’s a bit of a drive but you are worth it!! The seats, even in the large theatres are so much better!!!
It’s absolutely clean, offers food that tastes between fast food and a nice sit down burger/American restaurant. The bathrooms are spotless and cleaned multiple times a day. I feel good visiting the Warren.
I do feel gross after spending the amount of money we did and being so uncomfortable. We left feeling that our entire evening was spent in misery at a movie that we paid to enjoy!! Oppenheimer was a great movie!! Alas, I spent most of the showing unable to focus because of the heat, I had run out of my drink and felt unable to safely exit over feet and we all wanted to leave after the first hour.
Someone just said it’s been a miserable night and I thought yeah it has been. I will never again visit this Tulsa AMC theatre and I will not likely ever be enticed to try another location.
I’d rather give any other theatre my business and I will!!
All that being said, the kind employee at the counter were wonderful and the customer service was excellent!!
AMC please clean your bathrooms and stock your snack shelves. At least give patrons a good bait and switch by getting the last of their money with a fully stocked snack counter before they get bamboozled by the horrible experience inside...
Read moreUpon arrival, and check in, I approached the concession stand.
Once I greeted the lady, I asked her if the Bavarian Legend pretzel was available in garlic parmesan, because when ordering online it says it’s an option, but isn’t apart of the menu selections.
I told her I prefer to order my concession order online, but since I want garlic parmesan, and it was not allowed as an option online, she told me to place my order at the counter and it will be fine.
I let her know that the only reason for my purchase of a movie ticket, was because I received an email saying I had a $5 dollar credit on my account for the food court. Again, she said this was fine, and told me to scan my code.
So once it was time for me to purchase my pretzel, I asked for an extra cup of cheese and I noticed that my total was still over $18, and that the discount did not apply. She repeated that the total was over $18 and I said that cannot be right because if my coupon was added five dollars would’ve come off, she again repeats the total stating that it was a price over $18, I said that cannot be right if my coupon was added, and she repeated AGAIN the INCORRECT price, because if five dollars was taken off, it would say so, and the price would be five dollars less.
She tells me it’ll come off (the $5 stubs reward) after I scan my card, so I scanned my card on the Apple Pay reader, and was still charged full price, PLUS EXTRA after she told me that the five dollars will come off. She never applied the coupon, and I was charged full price. I immediately told her you told me that the five dollars would come off after I swiped my card. She says well the price is 18 something, and pretty much insinuated that she tricked me into paying full price so I tell her is there somebody else I can speak to. She points to the black guy and says “him over there” so the guy came over and told her that it only applies to drinks and popcorn. I said well i’ve used it for things like pretzels, nachos, and even PIZZA before, but OK well if it only applies to drinks and popcorn, give me a large drink and I’ll use my coupon on that. So she made me pay for the drink and still didn’t apply the coupon again. The man said he would refund my Money. My money still has not shown up not only that, I was charged three times on my card. Twice for $28, and once for $22. I want a TOTAL REFUND for this HORRIBLE and ENTIRELY AVOIDABLE INTERACTION! HAD AMC NOT ENTICED ME WITH A $5 COUPON THE DAY BEFORE, AND THE PEOPLE AT THE COUNTER FALSELY INFORMING CUSTOMERS, I WOULD NOT BE OUT OF $60 FOR ONE PERSON AT ONE MOVIE!!!!! And on top of that I was never given a GARLIC PARMESAN pretzel, because out of SPITE they didn’t put...

My boyfriend and I chose to see Captain Marvel at the Southroads AMC theater in Tulsa, OK. We drove from Owasso, 20 minutes away. There is an AMC theater in our town, but we have had several bad experiences there and have not gone in years.
We both work in customer service, so we try to be very understanding. But, to us, we could see that management at Southroads could careless. At first we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt; it was spring break, they were slammed, they could be understaffed, etc. We waited 20 minutes in the concessions line, but we both agreed it was okay. There was one girl behind the counter helping customers and a second girl stocking candy in a cashier line that was not active. We could not figure out why they were stocking during their rush, and how much faster the flow could be if she was helping behind the counter. In customer service, speed and top service is the priority. While waiting in line we noticed that the beverage fridge vents were literally falling off. The floor was covered in popcorn. Again, it was in the middle of a rush, so we were okay with it.
We made our way to our seats 30 minutes before the movie was scheduled to start, and the theater was still dirty. Numerous seats still had drinks and popcorn all over them, including ours. We thought we had gone in too early before the staff had time to clean, so we sat outside the theater for an additional 20 minutes. At 9:50 my boyfriend asked the girl collecting tickets if she thought the seats would be cleaned off by now. She said yes. We went back inside and saw that no one had been there to clean. With our movie starting in 5 minutes, we decided to sit somewhere else. We watched multiple customers go their seats only to find trash waiting for them.
As I previously stated, we are both very understanding. We assumed they were understaffed; but even then not every movie ended at the same time. I was extremely disappointed. My boyfriend wanted to go to a different theater that night, but I told him I wanted to go to AMC. He almost signed up for the AMC Stubb Club membership for $25 a month while purchasing our tickets, and I'm grateful he did not. I regret our decision tremendously. We were understanding about the whole experience up until the second trip to our filthy seats. It was so disappointing. We will...
