I normally never leave bad reviews, but the experience we had was just awful! I wish I could give 0 stars for this experience! When we walked in a girl named Chasity, who would end up being our waitress, was standing behind the host stand but did not say a single thing to us. No greeting whatsoever. She simply looked at us and then around the restaurant almost as if she was bored. When the hostess finally came back Chasity just told her where to seat us and then disappeared. We stood there for at least 10 minutes staring at her and waiting to be seated when Chasity could have seated us herself instead of waiting for the host. When we got seated, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come to the table to greet us and take our drink order. 20 minutes sitting at a table gives you plenty of time to figure out what you want, however, when she finally came to greet us we told her we were ready to order as well and she refused to take the order saying that she would come back to take it. It probably would have taken her not even 5 minutes to take our order in it’s entirety, keep that in mind. After our drink order was taken, it took her another 20 minutes to bring our drinks to the table. When we got our drinks there was no ice and they all tasted watered down because all the ice melted from how long it took her to bring them to us after they were made. She then rushed off when she sat the drinks down to chat with another table, and by chat I mean small talk about everyday life that could have waited until she took care of the other 3 tables she had including us. We had to stop her just to place our appetizers and even then she only took one person’s appetizer order, when there were 4 of us ordering, before running off and literally cutting off one of the people in our group. As someone who has worked in a restaurant, there were so many things she could have done to give us and everyone else a better experience because I know we were not the only table given bad service by this one waitress that night. We actually bonded with the table next to us because they were equally upset over the same issues. All together we spent over an hour at Chili’s, never even placed an order, and probably saw our waitress only 3 times. Very disappointed because I had never experienced service this bad at Chili’s and I regularly eat at...
Read moreTravelibg so we called ahead for closeing time. Arrived 45 minutes before kitchen close time. The first wirds out of the waitress' mouth was to inform us tgat we had to order fast becouse the kitchen was closeing. When we inquired about tge guacamole, she made it clear she did not want us to order the tableside guac as that woukd mean SHE would have to make it and she was in no mood to do so. *When it finally came out, it was a disapointment as it was that unpleasant grey brown color. We also ordered qesso "without anything in it"-- it is important to note that i specifically asked if there was a way to just get plain cheese dip without anything in it because thats all my child with aspergers wanted and pieces or chunks of anything would be a problem. The waitress assured us tgere woukd be nothingvin the plain cheese dip. So when it came out with jalapenos mixed in we called dominoes to have a cheese pizza delivered to our room for later. In addition to the jalepenos being present, the cheese dip but it was cold. It was some time before the waitress returned to the table to check on us. Our drinks were all empty and our chips were gone by the time a member of kitchen staff dropped off our food. We asked for a pitcher of water and he scurried off. Still no sign of our waitress. When she finally returned we mentioned the cold cheese dip, our empty sodas and more chips. Thoroughly disappointed with our service and treatment, we left very little tip. The most attention she gave us was after we asked for the bill. We even had to get our own togo boxes. In the future, we will avoid chilis in Tupelo altogether. When traveling, one just wants to eat and relax. We could have gotten better service and treatment at a waffle house!
Very disappointed, Chilis of Tupelo, very...
Read moreThe only reason why I’m writing this review is to hopefully bring awareness to future customers. We went to the Chili’s in Tupelo, MS a couple of weeks ago and our experience was awful. First off, it took several minutes for a hostess to even notice that we were waiting to be seated. She took our names and then another employee walked beside her and started talking about us in front of US! She then looked at my husband and said “y’all have to wait outside.” We didn’t hear her so we asked that she repeat “y’all can’t be in here—wait outside or go to your car.” I wanted to leave at this point, but the rest of our party seemed to want to wait. I need to add…nowhere on the Chili’s website does it state that waiting customers had to wait outside per Covid restrictions. They didn’t have signs up on their establishment stating that, either. Plus, I didn’t see any employee (that was visible to me), have a mask on. Fast forward a bit… We get to our table and wait and wait for someone to take our drinks. Then wait and wait for the food to come (the restaurant was never busy). My friend noticed that there was parchment paper stuck to the queso bowl she had been eating out of! When I took my 3 year old to the bathroom, I glanced at the kitchen and it was NASTY! I’m talking food everywhere on the counters and falling onto the floors. There was even chip crumbs leading to the nasty bathroom. We paid our 50.00 bill and left. Then the next couple of days suffered for it because my husband and I got food poisoning. Thankfully our children didn’t eat the food because that would have been fun to clean up… take...
