Old, cold buffet... Limited selection. Ordered HOT TEA, the pot was cold. Asked for HOT TEA, again, the pot they brought me was cold. I asked the front to speak with a manager, she brought me another pot of barely warm tea. When I explained that the chicken skewers were also cold, and some other items, too...I ASKED for her to remove the TEA from my bill ... She grabbed my bill, threw it away... Another waitress short thick one, started running her mouth in Chinese tell me it was hot...I poured it on my hand over my plate in front of her, and she continued to run her mouth.... We left. I returned two weeks later to get a take out ... Seems like they took the old, cold buffet sweet n sour chicken pieces, and threw them in the deep fryer.... When the order was opened, they were dark, overcooked, and all crunch, not chicken.... We will never be back, especially because the same girl/woman, even sitting 30 feet away, when I walked in, she saw me, and started running her mouth, AGAIN!!! SORRY, BUT I CANNOT REWARD BAD FOOD, AND DISRESPECTFUL WAITRESSES, ESPECIALLY WHEN, WE WERE THE ONES DEALING WITH THE INCOMPETENCE...OUR ADVICE, EAT...
Read moreI usually get takeout from New China in Tupelo but they are closed for the month of July.
So I thought I would give China Capital a try as I had not been there in quite a long time. A good many years ago, I used to go there quite often for their buffet and the food was at minimum very good but sometimes excellent but from the food that I got tonight, the quality has went way down compared to back then.
Anyhow, I ordered my usual General Tso's chicken and lo mein noodles and steamed white rice.
The General Tso's chicken was not tender at all and very chewy and not seasoned spicy enough for my taste. The noodles were fair but not seasoned well in my opinion. And the rice was just bland & too dry, so thank God for soy sauce!
The meal cost me $24 and was probably not worth half that much and, after tonight, China Capital has lost my business due to the poor quality of the food that I ordered!
And I will put in a plug for New China on West Main in Tupelo and if you give them a try and compare them to other Chinese restaurants in the Tupelo area, then they may become your go to place for Chinese...
Read moreUsed to be my go to Chinese food place. Went there every birthday because I loved it so much. But the last time I went the service was atrocious. I wasn't greeted or seated. Workers walked right past me and my friend that was with me and that was after we had been standing at the front for around 15 minutes. Eventually we walked ourselves to an empty table and it was completely filthy and sticky. We just turned around and walked out. Won't be going back there ever again. And that's too bad as I really liked their Crab Wantons. But good food can't make up for horrendous service and...
