I was very pleasantly surprised by my recent stay. In town for a funeral, I simply made a reservation at this location due to proximity to my family’s home.
I called early the afternoon of arrival to let the hotel know that I would be checking in very late and the gentleman I spoke with was so kind. The desk clerk who checked me in well after 10pm was also very helpful and enabled me to arrange a late check out with ease. As I left, even the housekeeping staff member I shared the elevator with was friendly and clearly took pride in her work.
The lobby and shared area around the bar and restaurant were clean and decorated in an inviting, comfortable manor.
Unexpectedly, my room was so thought out and organized well. I have traveled a lot for business and the attention to detail in the room’s design did not go unnoticed. I liked the moveable work table, the ability to rearrange the ottoman for use with the love seat or while working at the table and having both a refrigerator and microwave.
I have three suggestions for improvement, but they are offered as opportunities for improvement and not complaints.
•Signage for ice or instructions in the room on where to obtain ice would be helpful. Although I couldn’t find a self-service machine or any signage on my floor, the front desk clerk took my ice bucket and cheerfully filled it up for me while I waited.
•The screen on the room’s thermostat was unreadable. Fortunately, the room temp was comfortable enough, so I left it alone. If an adjustment had been necessary for heat or AC, I would have needed staff assistance.
•Finally, providing multiple USB outlets in the room would be very useful. The only one I found was on the alarm clock.
Know that I shared my positive experience with local family and friends and highly recommended this property if they ever needed to make arrangements for other out of town guests. You should be proud of your hotel and both the friendliness and professionalism of your staff. Should I return I will definitely plan to...
Read moreHave stayed at this hotel several times and this was my worst experience ever. As I made it into town I checked into my room at that point I was offered a breakfast voucher in which I declined and informed the lady that I will not be awake and asked for late checkout. I got in my room and there was immediately an unpleasant odor I sprayed so I was able to deal with that. The room was located next to the ice machine so noise from that was constant. Next morning I’m awaken at 9 to banging on the door, which I had the privacy sign, it was housekeeping. Still not time for regular checkout but I informed them that I had a late checkout, I then called the front desk in case there was an error and she confirmed that my late checkout would be 12 pm. Tried to call back asleep but then another knock saying that I didn’t have a late checkout. Few moment later a call from front desk stated that they didn’t have a record of me requesting a late checkout, and asked me who I talked to in which I told them I didn’t ask a name I only know it was the lady that checked me in and whomever answered the phone that morning. She then stated that she was the only one working that morning and I responded that it had to be her then. She insisted that she never talked to me at that point I told her I would be checking out immediately because now I was unable to get any rest before my flight out. It was very frustrating and disappointing and I refuse to stay at the...
Read moreThis is the place to do just that. While traveling the Natchez Trace and on a month long road trip to visit family and friends, this hotel was the highlight of all the places we stayed. Scott and his staff, Dana, Vangela, Miss Janet, both Renee's, Nancy and others, made us feel like part of their family and not paying guests. The hotel is modern, open and sparkling clean. The bar and restaurant (yes they have both on site) were amazing. During our two night stay we only went out to eat at a different place once. The food and service were so good here that we just wanted to stay in to eat, drink and be merry. The shuttle service is a bonus and if you are lucky enough to get Dana, she will go the extra mile to show you things other people not familiar with Tupelo might miss. Although because you can see how amazing all of the staff is, we are certain that whoever you had as a driver would be amazing too. We stayed in one of the suites with a separate door to the bedroom and it was perfect. Room noise from other guests was non existent. Internet was fast and reliable. I really could go on and on about this place but simply put.....Just Stay There ! You will not regret it. Other hotels should take note of what Scott and his team are doing here. Thank You, Thank you, Thank you........ Wake...
