We have been to Forklift many times but this will more than likely be the last time we visit. I get the same thing every time I go (the braised short rib) because in the beginning when we first started eating there it was phenomenal; but at this point it needs to be taken off the menu. This is literally the 3rd or 4th time now that I have been served nothing but fat. For $33 dollars that is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. This was my last straw considering I have gotten nothing but fat every single the last 3 or 4 times we have gone and this time I refused to have to ask for a different piece of meat as I did the last few times. My husband got the patty melt this time and when we got in the car told me he didnt want to make a scene in the restaurant but there were two pieces of long hair in his food. All of this combined with the lack of service we had just pushed us into making the decision for this to be our last time. We waited half an hour for our appetizer which was litterally 5 tator tots and our waitress only refilled our drinks once the whole hour and almost twenty minutes we were there. Just a bit mind blowing for a restarant we cant get into anymore without a reservation. We have actually walked out of the restaurant SIX times in the last 3 months because we were told there were no tables even though when we walked in half the restaurant was empty. I feel like if your a high end restaurant you should at least value your customers and have high quality food. Forklift has literally gone from being or favorite date night spot to completely coming off the list of even going to. It's really upsetting because like I said the food and service actually used to be amazing. We left the other night spending $85 for teo people and having to go find something else to eat. Also just a heads up for anyone else wanting to try to eat there, they have good music playing but it is EXTREMELY loud. I have been in bars were the music wasnt even that loud. I dont see how some of the older crown can go and...
Read moreThis was the best food that I have ever eaten! It’s the same for my husband and all 4 of our children (which is saying so much because we often have different favorites!)!! We went here as a lunch stop on a long vacation drive in between hotels. We loved the food and service and environment so much that we drove out of our way on our return trip so that we could enjoy this again!! I had the fried catfish, yams, and I believe grits, Two of us had burgers and fries! One had fried chicken with 2 different, but excellent sides! Another had a fruit bowl. My goodness this was the best food we’ve ever had and the service absolutely excellent! They have a lovely place to eat indoors or in a covered outdoor seating. We chose the covered outdoors. We were smitten by bite one. Absolutely shocked that they weren’t fully booked for every day and every table! We were physically distances from other guests and the waiter and other employees always were wearing their masks. The location is great, design amazing, service excellent, and the food - oh my goodness the food was absolutely the best we’ve ever had! We talked about it the entire rest of our vacation, and we ate at wonderful restaurants, but this is so much better than anywhere! One of my kiddos said that someone could invent time travel simply for us to have this ready to eat in our home in Springfield Missouri and we all absolutely agreed. It’s worth it! Drive out of your way!
Definitely stop and enjoy this slice of paradise! Oh my, their slices of cheesecake are just absolutely amazing! Their sweet tea is signature southern sweet tea! So good! Their other drinks were excellent too! Oh, we have to go back!! Just writing this has brought everything back and just wow! Enjoy!
Ps. We really need a Forklift restaurant for every state!! Definitely in Springfield, Missouri!! Maybe 2 or 3 locations in every...

Sadly, we were very disappointed. We just moved here from Birmingham and had heard this was one of the new, trendy restaurants in Tupelo.
We loved the way it looks, it reminds us of Urban Grill in Nashville. We've lived in the Nashville & Birmingham areas and my husband was stationed all over the world. We travel and eat out a lot!
The drinks were very disappointing. Draft beer selection was dismal and not unique. I ordered a Watermelon Martini and a Yellow drink arrived that was only 2/3 full for $12.00! It was tasteless and bland. Wine selection was very limited and lackluster. Only 2 choices for Chardonnay and one of them was Kenndal Jackson, an overrated, overpriced mediocre Chard. Appetizers of Shrimp & Mushrooms were good. Everyone had Grouper except me, I had Shrimp Tacos.Tacos were "good" not great. Husband's Grouper was very dry and bland and very small portion. Wait staff was "Ok", but just ok. One came to remove our clean wine glasses before we were served dinner. Others reached across you face to serve at table. One came and removed my napkin from under my elbow. Simple not trained well. Our dinner for two came to over $125.00. They may WANT to be like the hip restaurants in the Gulch, but they are NOT. This isn't Nashville! Fortunately we were friends whose company we really enjoy so it wasn't a total fail.
It was Friday night, we were there to hear the band that was playing as our friends knew them. Food was on the SLOW side coming out as well.
We have fabulous food, drinks and service at Nautical Whimsy for half the price.
The picture is my drink before I...
